Customer Reviews

Exactly as advertised, package came undamagedI workout often after work, and am trying to gain strength, so I started looking in to pre-workout supplements to give me energy after a long day. The downside with most store bought supplements is that they come with so many fillers, and they ALL have SO MUCH caffeine (which I cannot take after like noon if I want to sleep well). By buying each component separately from bulk supplements, I can design my own pre-workout mix without the caffeine and without any additives. After extensive research (and no, I am not a professional, so I'm not advocating the below unless it worked for you, do your own research!) here is the list of ingredients I use:>Beet Root Powder: Energy, boost endurance and increase strength, replaced caffeine for me -- it definitely has a strong beet taste, but I kind of like that it offsets the lack of taste of the other ingredients. Sometimes I throw in coconut sugar for sweetness to offset the strength of the beet.>Beta Alanine: Research shows it helps fight muscle fatigue and increases muscle endurance in high-intensity exercise.>Creatine Monohydrate: Most sports scientists consider creatine to be the number one supplement for increasing strength and power.>L-Citrulline: Citrulline increases blood flow to body tissues. Research shows that for exercise, this may help supply your muscles with the oxygen and nutrients they need and stimulates muscle endurance & reduces muscle soreness>BCAAs: To aid in recovery. Often taken after workouts, but does have similar benefits when take in pre-workouts.>Theanine: Boost alertness and reaction time, it also has a calming effect, so great for afternoon/night workouts. Also found to go great when combined with the caffeine in pre-workouts.I mix all ingredients into a large twist top jar, because adding a little bit from all the bags every day would be tedious! Also because you're working with powder, the zip-lock is annoying, so would not be ideal if opening everyday. 5Always great product, but this shipment is suspectI buy Bulk Supplements products for their quality and price, and have always been please with my purchases - whether buying direct from BS or through Amazon. However, this bag of L- Citrulline is suspect. A barcode label was placed on the bottom right corner of the bag label, covering the product Lot Number and Expiration Date. Also, the powder in the bag is not loose, but clumped into little balls. Not sure what FDA or Amazon regulations are on this matter (covering expiration dates and lot number) but covering the lot number and exp date with another label should not be done. Amazon should look into this. 1Ripped at 55Well I'm Glade Someone Remembered Quality outweighs Quantity and Bulk Supplements has the Formula & the Winner!!! The Pure Beta Alanine is the Truth and I know!!! I workout 6 Days a week 3days weights & 3days HIIT as I'm achieving my goal of being Rippedby55. I use alot of Supplements, Vitamins, Spices & Herbs for Energy-Recovery-Weight loss and I never to this point experienced the boost of endurance that I did doing a HIIT leg circuit like I did after use Beta Alanine. My energy & endurance was incredible and flowed from the beginning to the end of 1hr...Then I took that same energy & endurance to the weight room right after and KNOCKED OUT a Great Upperbody Set!!!Keep Up the GREAT WORK BULK SUPPLEMENTS!!! 5Custom Pre-Workout Stack by Bulk SupplementsI purchased this product as a part of my own pre-workout stack consisting of 4 g Beta Alanine, 6 g Citrulline Malate, and 4 g Creatine Monohydrate. I have taken a few other pre-workouts in the past and do not like many of the added fillers ($$), and having to deal with unknown dosage amounts that end up in "proprietary blends". Bulk Supplements provide exactly what they advertise, the purest form of said ingredients at very reasonable products. That being said, the quality of the products are top notch and my results have been reflective of that. I have made significant gains on my lifts in both volume and number, increased strength, stamina, and endurance, and have been able to do so on a caloric deficit without compromise. My aim was to control the specific dosages of each ingredient for my desired results (fat loss and muscle gain), and Bulk Supplements have allowed me to do that. All three powders mix and dissolve very well with water, with no clumping or residue left behind in the shaker bottle.Beta Alanine is said to help prevent muscular fatigue during workouts, while Citrulline Malate is a vaso-dialator, which leads to a better pump. Creatine Monohydrate helps support lean muscle and ATP synthesis while aiding in muscular recovery. It is especially beneficial for anaerobic exercises that require that extra push.As far as I can tell, the Beta Alanine and Creatine Monohydrate both have neutral flavors, but the Citrulline Malate is extremely bitter. I would recommend mixing with some form of sweetener to offset the bitterness and make this blend more palatable. I use Fruit Punch Gatorade powder (11g) for my mix and it works for me. This is only about a half dose of the Gatorade powder as listed on the bottle, but again, trying to cut involves limiting sugar and calorie intake. Some may want it sweeter, but I'm taking this for results, not taste. To anyone looking to build a custom pre-workout, I would highly recommend using Bulk Supplements. Shipping is fast, accurate, and relatively inexpensive compared to the flashier brands you will see in places like GNC. I will soon be adding BCAA 2:1:1 into my daily routine to help with muscle soreness and recovery as well. 5Awesome enduranceI Picked this up to use as an ingredient in homemade preworkout, but that didnt go so well. Nevertheless, I have been adding half a teaspoon of this to my preworkout to great effect.Beta Alanine helps with muscle endurance by slowing the buildup of lactic acid in the muscles, giving you more muscular endurance. This supplement will allow you to lift for longer sessions, meaning that if your willing to put in the work, this will help you see results faster. Please note, taking this will cause an odd tingling sensation on your skin, especially in areas like the back of the neck, and face. This is normal, it wont hurt you, and the sensation will decrease as you use your muscles. 5Not just for Exercise but for a those who work all day on their feetI know this supplement very well. It s part of pre workouts that give you the tingly sensation. I bought this because I deal with muscle fatigue but didn t need the extra crazy umph pre workout can give you if you re not at the gym pumping iron. I work on my feet 8 hours a day and it s a physical job. By 4-5 hours in after taking a break I feel muscle fatigue setting in which in turn makes me more tired and I was tired of throwing back ibuprofen at work which I m trying to not take unless I really have to. I started adding in beta alanine into my matcha green tea smoothie and sipping it throughout my shift and it has helped me greatly. I still get the tingly sensation beta alanine is known for but it doesn t bother me much as long as I didn t put too much into my drink. My entire shift goes by like a breeze and I work up so much endurance that I have to stop and make sure I m not overworking but the next day I wasn t even sore from working so hard and so long. This I highly recommend not only for Exercise but also if you work daily on your feet all day and it s a physical job. 5Great product at a great priceThis is my first experience with Bulk Shipments and I am very pleased. I've been on a 500/calorie deficit a day for about 6 weeks and needed a little more boost than my Creatine was providing pre-workout. The product is definitely legit and works well. I take 3g/day; one in my morning protein shake, one pre-workout with Creatine, one in my evening protein shake. Definitely can tell. Increased energy and endurance, and a slight neuropathy for the first 20 minutes or so which you get used to. This is the perfect match for Creatine as a pre-workout in my opinion and as I've read many other opinions as well. I've followed the directions that many have said across the web stating that you should ingest 3 times a day and expect to experience an even greater boost as it sets in after roughly 2-weeks. (I've been taking for a week) Regardless, I am very satisfied so far and if it gets better than that's great!Regarding Bulk Shipments, I have ordered their Taurine, Betaine and Citruilline Powders as well if that says anything. Their products are real and priced very well. My only complaint is that they did not include a spoon. I hope that there is at least one in the three more bags that I have coming... But hey, I have one from my Creatine so it's all good!Stay healthy. 5a useful supplement to have in any pre-workoutI've enjoyed my experience with this supplement thus far. I take 1/2 teaspoons (2 grams) before a workout and it usually gives a tingling sensation. I take it later in the day every 4 hours in doses of 1g to maintain saturation, but never within 2 hours of sleeping. It is a stimulant and can have a caffeine-like effect, so I would not recommend using it near bedtime. I find that the powder (although they're more like grains of salt) does not easily dissolve, so I simply dump a dose on my tongue and down it with water. That said, the supplement has seemed to have a slight effect in performance within my week of use. It can take up to 3 weeks for carnosine levels (what beta-alanine raises) to become noticeable, so have patience.A great product, truly; and cheap. 500 grams is approximately 100 servings if you take 5g a day, which results in about 20 cents per day for the supplement. 5Five StarsAbsolutely LOVE this stuff!!!! Easy to take and no taste. Gives me extra boost during my workouts! 5Great brand, good product, MAKE SURE you get your dosing rightCaution:Taking this in large doses will cause mild to severe flushing and tingling of the skin, most commonly the forehead, arms and hands, or back. If you experience this, know that it's common, temporary, and you're going to be okay. But, most importantly, it is avoidable. Read the "how to take" section for more.About the product:Bulk Supplements is a great brand. Look at their average review across all their products. Few can compete. I've had no complaints with this product, and it came exactly as advertised, which has been true for all of my purchases from their line. Other products by this brand have been quality-tested by third party organizations like LabDoor, and all have exceeded their promises. One thing worth doing is explaining how to work with their products, so here's a short guide-The bags use press-to-seal ziploc, which is not ideal for multiple accesses. I recommend transferring portions of the powder to a mason jar or similar container, using the bag for long-term storage.-There is no scoop provided, because they don't do dosing. What IS provided is a measurement to concentration table. The label gives you measurements in increments of teaspoons (1tsp = 5ml). It's easy to miss and very handy. How (and why) to take beta-alanine:Take 3.2grams per day, taken as either four doses of 800mg or three doses of 1.1g (1100mg), spaced out by at least three hours. The time of day does not matter, and it is irrelevant to take it pre-, post-, or mid-workout. At any given time, it only matters if you have taken it consistently for a week or two. Take it in 800mg doses for one week before trying 1.1g doses to get your body used to it. It's been found that almost all people tolerate 800mg, but most will handle a slightly higher dose without the prickling feeling. I personally take 1.1g without noticeable effects. It takes one to two weeks to reach peak efficacy, and you will lose the performance benefits two to three weeks after you stop taking it. More information and the reasons for this dosing can be found below.I do a meta-analysis of every supplement I consider taking. The information below is up to date via peer-reviewed, vetted studies sourced July 1st 2018.The realistic, studied doses are 3-3.5 grams per day and ~6 grams per day. There has been no difference in results between the two, so my dosing recommendations will be targeted at and just above 3 grams per day. There is no reason to believe lower doses are ineffective, but they have not been studied. Both doses have been found to increase muscle concentration of carnosine and to improve performance in mid-high intensity, mid-high duration activities. Think long sprints, HIIT, swimming, and drop sets. Effect has been observed in general (think resistance training) activities, but it's too early for certainty.Muscle carnosine levels have been found to be highly diet related, so supplementing is very unlikely to cause long-term change. Specifically, vegetarians (which implies vegans also - the significant aspect is the lack of meat in their diet) have chronically lower carnosine levels. It has not been studied, but it is simple to predict beta-alanine supplementation may be even more valuable to non-meat eating groups. Carnosine levels following the end of beta-supplementation have steadily reverted to baseline values across multiple studies. It's only effective while you take it.At 800mg per dose, beta-alanine has consistently shown no prickling or flushing side effects. This number was chosen arbitrarily by researchers, and the only hard data about what doses WILL consistently cause side effects is anything 3g or more in a small time frame. Many will tolerate a larger (than 800mg) dose, but how much larger remains to be seen.If you have any questions, you may reply to my comment and I will do my best to answer and make clear the limitations of my knowledge. The disturbing presence of naturalists, broscientists, and other homeopathic charlatans is something I'm willing to spend my time working against. 5
