If you need XL glove sizes, avoid this brace. It s a medium for the thumb hole at best.Does not fit large hands, especially the thumb! The descriptions give a dimension range which is out of whack. The hole for the thumb is much too small and not adjustable without cutting open the brace. The wrist dimension is doable, but if your thumb is larger than a half inch across it is not going to fit in the thumb hole without serious constriction or brace modification. 1Best combination wrist and thumb brace!Very well made thumb & wrist support. Can be used on right or left hand. Excellent design supports thumb and wrist well and is comfortable. Compared to many others on the market, it is very well priced. Brace has velcro that holds firmly, no slippage. Have used during the day and at night. I have a thumb affected by an autoimmune disorder which renders the second (top) joint of the thumb very painful, as well as gradually bending the thumb bones at a rather odd angle. Yes, ouch, indeed!So I needed a brace which would comfortably fit the second joint, account for swelling, yet immobilize the thumb without affecting the rest of my hand's ability to function normally.Bracoo won hands down. The thumb portion is not too tight and it is adjustable. The straps don't eat into your wrist. Putting it on is a piece of cake, compared to others which had me contorting all over the place just to fasten the straps correctly. Some reviews said this brace felt bulky - my experience is the opposite. I could even, with care, grasp a drinking glass with the affected hand. No other brace allowed that freedom of movement.Now, with use over time, I might change my evaluation. I really hope not!The other braces I tried were;1. VCS Thumb Brace (blue). This was my second choice, but my wrist was bothered by the bulky strap. Very simple to put on and provided good support.2. Vive Thumb Support. This made 3rd place - again, the wrist straps interfered with normal hand motion. It looked really cool though!3. Procare Thumb-o-Prene. The thumb part was so narrow (and NOT adjustable) that it was quite painful. A third, thinner strap came with the package that wasn't attached to anything in particular. Maybe an extra Velcro strap if you're into bondage?4. BioSkin Wrist:Thumb Spica. The most expensive by far, and offers more support to the wrist than I needed. The brace looked so complicated, I didn't even try it on. A little too much overkill for my needs.Hope my analyses save some people from having to try on all these different types of thumb braces.4Exactly what I needed.I have De Quervain's syndrome and this little brace has helped me immensely. Comfortable, easy to put on and adjust, easy to wash, and helping me heal. I do have pretty small thumbs, my wedding ring fits on it, so my thumbs are no larger than the rest of my fingers, and it fits perfectly. I did read the other reviews, and knowing my own fingers was confident my thumb would fit, and it does. However, if you have flatter, or wider thumbs, this will likely not fit you. Thanks to the other reviewers, I knew this would work for me, and therefore it was a good purchase. Good value if it will work for you.5good product at a great priceI damaged ligaments in my left thumb playing basketball in February. Unfortunately, your left thumb takes a lot of stress in a right handed golf swing. This brace doesn't completely immobilize your thumb, but it does protect it, even at impact of a golf swing. I don't need the wrist brace at all, so that wrap seems a bit long and cumbersome for my needs. I also don't need the thumb strap towards the top of your thumb, so I cut that off. The hole to get your thumb through is SMALL. I am a 6' tall man with normal size hands and can barely get my thumb in there. The upside is that once it's on, it stays in place! All in all, good product at a great price! 4nice position brace but very strong velcroI have trouble with pressure on my thumb occasionally and sometimes my thumb will hyper-extend. This wrist wrap with thumb brace really puts my hand and thumb in a nice resting position to help recover. The only thing that is difficult about this brace is the velcro around the wrist is super strong. I've never had such strong velcro on a brace item before. So sometimes, I have to be patient and go slow when trying to get the velcro open so I don't pull too hard and hurt my other thumb. If you have hand strength problems and no one to help you, it might be difficult to undo by yourself.4More Than A Fingerless GloveI really wanted this to work for me. The design is fabulous. The implementation is flawed. A few days ago I sprained my thumb. Flexion of the thumb was not possible without a sharp pain at the base of the palm. My hope was that this brace would keep me from further injury. Advertised as a thumb and wrist brace I feel that it does poorly at both. Wrist extension is mildly prevented by the brace but full flexion is not inhibited. If you securely wrap your wrist you are more likely to block the flow of blood into your hand than to prevent movement at the wrist. The problem with the thumb is similar. The opening is smaller than I'd like; it took me a while to stretch this out. The strap at the thumb is about 3/4" wide. I believe that if this strap were 1" - 1.25" it would serve better for compression without blocking the blood flow. After a few hours of wear I have decided to go back to taping my thumb; with a plastic splint.Edit: Once I made the thumb hole larger I was able to use this brace, and tape my thumb. The strap that wraps the thumb works best if I pull it once around the thumb (don t loop it) and attach the strap closer to the opposite side of the palm (the base of the pinky).4I think we have a winner :)Okay, so I bought this glove for my mom who has Tendinitis. I researched tons of gloves online and out of the top 5.. I chose this bad boy. The package came within two days as promised with Amazon prime and was very easy to open. It comes with instructions so you don't end up putting it on backwards!The answer is YES. My mom really likes it and she's very hard to please. She was worried about it being yucky looking or too bulky to work in the O.R but it doesn't look bulky at all. Most importantly she said it actually works. I know if it wasn't helping she would have thrown it behind the couch already lol. But it's been 3 days and so far so good! I love it!I've had multiple surgeries on my right hand and want to avoid the trigger fingers caused by the surgery. I'm using this for daytime work on my left hand, which is my dominant hand, to help avoid the surgery. It's helping, and it doesn't get in the way as a full wrist brace would. The main purpose for purchasing this item was because I have "gaming thumb" which basically means that I can't bend my thumb all the way back without pain. My doctor told me to find a stabilizer and this was the perfect match. I've only had it for 2 weeks and I already feel better.5I had a bad case of "trigger thumb" on my left handI had a bad case of "trigger thumb" on my left hand. This brace was perfect for keeping the thumb straight until I could get to the hand doctor, which was two weeks off. I didn't like to wear it at night though, seemed when I was asleep and my hand relaxed I would get up with the tip of my thumb feeling numb. Other than that it did exactly as described. Very inexpensive. BTW, my hand specialist told me it was an ideal brace for my problem. 4More info on this thumb brace 1 year later.I am rewriting a review because I wanted people to know how well this thing stands up with time. I bought it just under a year ago and one of the velcro straps won't stick anymore. This problem is not isolated to this particular thumb brace as I've had this problem with another thumb brace that I purchased at CVS. The thumb braces from CVS lasted less then 6 months ago. It's very frustrating and I hesitate to buy another one because I don't want to have to buy one every year. 4
