Great and Sturdy bathtub accessoryI was hesitant to buy this online, but the reviews were great and the measurements/specs provided helped me to feel certain it would fit my old bathtub and it does. It is very well made and very sturdy for balancing needs getting in and out of the tub. I'm a renter and rather than drill into the building walls for a support handle, this product does not impact the walls or the tub and the landlord will never know that I needed a little balance help in the bathtub. The height adjustment is excellent as going much higher would impact its' steadiness. 5It is sturdy, easy to install and works extremely well!I purchased this grab bar when we were expecting a visit from my wife's sister who has Parkinson disease and needs something to hold onto when getting in and out of the bathtub. This item was perfect!! (:-).... I already had a wall mounted hold bar on the wall and with this she could utilize both hand to stabilize herself when she entered or exited the tub.This is a excellent product. It is easy to install and I know this because my wife did it! (:-) I did check to insure it was tight, it was... This is an excellent product and I would recommend it to anyone that needs a helping hand! 5Economical, Easy to InstallI am an Occupational Therapist working in home care. I ordered this particular bar for a patient several months ago who needed an extra hand hold to be able to step in and out of the tub, but could not afford to install a permanent grab bar. The height of the device is easy to adjust and is adequate even for tall users, which I find is a common problem with these types of devices. It stays put once the clamp is fully tightened, and accommodates tubs with a wide edge without compromising its ability to be tightened - it worked on a tub that was over 6" in width. It's fairly easy to remove and re-position. It does not take up a lot of space and can be hidden fairly easily behind a shower curtain. It's economically priced, especially when you consider what the cost is of treating a fracture. 5Needs better adhesive for the rubber non slip gripMy father who had a stroke needed this to help with the tub and toilet of their small bathroom. He loves the handle so I wanted to give it high marks - but I m concerned as the adhesive holding the rubber on the clamp is sliding off. Which causes need to readjust. Any suggestions for how to get the rubber to stay attached better? 4Outstanding value!This Adjustable Height Bathtub Grab Bar is an outstanding product. It is very well designed, solid and couldn't be easier to install. It's actually amazingly better than traditional grab bars that need to be installed in the walls of the bathroom. This thing goes anywhere on the side of the tub and is easily removable. I'm very confident it will be in use for a long time from the way it was constructed. 5Been a great aid for getting in and out of the tub.Bought this a few months ago as we have an old claw foot cast iron tub that is difficult for me to get in and out of. I have some balance issues and needed something to help steady myself and be able to have some weight put on it if I start to lose my balance. So far it has done exactly what I bought it for. It's very sturdy, super simple to put on and take off when cleaning the tub. The steel construction gives me peace of mind that it is not going to break or bend if I need to grab it suddenly. Have only had to re-tighten it a couple of times due to me not setting it flush with the top of the tub when removed for cleaning. Its been a great aid for me and will be using it for quite some time to come. 4Excellent item!Excellent quality and manufacture. Item is quite heavy and will hold up likely forever. Very glad to see there was padding on inside of sleeve that attaches to tub to help prevent damage. Height adjustment options are good for short and tall. Very impressed. I purchased for my husband recently diagnosed with cancer - this will work well with his shower stool. If I had known about this grab bar, I think I would have purchased years ago just for safer use of the bath tub. 5Won't securely tighten on slanted-sides built-in metal tub.This item will not tighten securely on our 35-year old metal Drive Medical Adjustable Height Bathtub Grab Bar Safety Rail, Whitebuilt-in tub. The tub has slightly slanted sides. Only one side of this device is able to slant. Once tightened, any backwards and forwards motion causes the device to slide upwards, loosening it. This would require ineffective tightening at every use. This item is not returnable, and this situation is not addressed. Be careful. 1Very disappointed, as the design was just what I was ...First of all, it kept coming loose. After several weeks of readjusting the tightening mechanism, it was stripped--it was made of plastic. It became very dangerous to use as it kept falling off. Very disappointed, as the design was just what I was looking for to hold on to as I sat down in the tub. 1Essential itemWhere have you been all my life? I can't afford a complete re-do of my bathroom to build in rails, and those stick-on things are worthless. This grips the bathtub perfectly and very very firmly. I weigh--more than I should--and it's firm and solid every time I use it (which is every time I get in and out of the tub). If you have any instability at all, a must-have.Update: This thing has saved me from falling several times. Also helpful for climbing in and out of the tub for baths. Highly recommend. 5
