Nice compact sizeI can never remember if I took my medicine or not each day but with this pill box with the marked days it s easy to look and see. I take 2 capsules a day and they both fit great in here. More than 4 capsules would not fit.I like the small size because it s easy to throw in my purse if I m going somewhere. Much better than 2 pill bottles.I was worried they would be hard to open being they open from the inside but I have not had any problems. They open easily while at the same time shutting firmly so they won t come out. 5Ok, but better ones out thereOverview: Pill container for medications. Does its job and holds medications by date for once a day.Postivies: Clear markings and see into plastics, compact and easy to travel, and cheapNegative: Easy to spill when filling, an S for Saturday and an S for Sunday, hard to open just one tab, and not for anything else like vitamins or larger medication.Advice: ok if you have a few meds to take, larger pills or vitamins will not work. If you have arthritic hand find a different one. Hate the two S's whats is so hard to print a Su for Sunday. 3The "Tall" and "Wide" of Two Monthly Planners with the Pro's and Con's of Each Size[During the first 2 weeks of use, one of the covers simply tore loose when I lifted it, leaving me with a "missing day" in my monthly scheduler. It's a "psychological inconvenience" at worst; a practical problem at best. Add to that the difficulty of extracting just a single pill from the 3-4 in any one of the too-narrow compartments, and this entire piece--after a month's use--is headed for the recycling bin. I've reduced it by a star two times, to keep it long enough to knock off an additional one would be unfair.]This is one of two single-piece monthly pill planners I found on Amazon (cases with no pop-out compartments, no pieces to assemble and reassemble, no indispensable parts suddenly going MIA). The other one is in a square shape, admittedly awkward to place on a shelf that's crowded or lacking in depth. The square-shaped case is also trickier to fit carry in some briefcases, and as for a traveling toiletry kit, best rule it out. But it has advantages that make it worth considering, whether "in place of" or "in addition to": 28-day, 1 Compartment Per Day, 4 Week Monthly Medtime Planner by Apothecary . The pictured model's much thinner profile (this page, above) makes it convenient: 1. to carry with you; 2. to "slide" into the tiniest opening on a crowded shelf; 3. to find "just enough" space on the outer margin of a shelf for the unit to sit on.So why do I keep one of each? Because the model pictured here, the "long and tall" pill planner, is not always the easiest to manage. The compartments are deep enough to accommodate my 3-4 essential meds but not my fingers! Unless you have pencil-thin digits--no, make that "straw-thin" ones (and not milk shake-sized or smoothie-sized straws!)--it can be a challenge, and a bit of a chore, to extract from any single compartment the one pill or capsule that you wish or are required to select at a given time of day. (I find it works best to turn the pictured thin and long case upside-down, shake out all the contents of the single compartment into the palm of your hand, select the pill you need, and then replace the remaining contents back into the compartment you've just emptied. (Note: this method requires checking and re-checking each compartment to ensure that all hatches are "battened down" before performing the "flip and shake" maneuver!So the advantage goes to the larger, square model for the extraction of an individual pill and to this tall and thin case when space is at a premium. I've had neither pill case for more than 3 months, so I can't comment on durability. But it strikes me that the main potential "weakness" of both units is the flexible plastic material serving as a "hinge" for the compartment covers. I would frankly be surprised (and of course delighted) if that "hinge" piece lasted for more than a single year on all of the compartments on either of the two monthly pill cases. (Best temper your expectations to lessen disappointment down the line.)The open ends of each cover--i.e. the tiny protrusions that enable the top part, or lids, to "snap" together with the lower receptacle--strike me as sufficiently secure on both units. (My guess is that the "hinges" will begin to fail before the "snap" pieces do.) 3Good price, function, and styleI am really happy with this purchase. Many reviewers say that the compartments are too small but I was able to fit 5 pills in each compartment. To be fair one of my pills is very small but another, my daily vitamin, is huge (see picture). I have been using this product regularly for the past 4 months and I am starting to see the white letters indicating the day of the week starting to rub off and fade. This should be easily fixable with my own letter stickers or with using a paint marker. I received the blue box, I wish I had received either the green or purple box but, for the price I paid, $2.39 I am extremely happy with this purchase. I prefer this circular design, by far, to the long bar pill box. 5Be WarnedI gave this product two stars because essentially is does what it is intended to do. I took off 1 star for each of the following:1. I ordered a purple case and a blue case, I received two green cases. Not practical when you want to differentiate medications for two different people.2. The cases are pretty small considering they are labeled as large. My husband can get his smaller pills in fine, however, I can't fit much more in with my prenatal (horse pill).3. Initially the case is difficult to open. People with fine motor skill difficulties (i.e. arthritis) may have problems. Once opened, the flaps seem a little flimsy like they could break off. 2Deceptive description with no returns availableI ordered this product based on the container advertised "Product Dimensions: 0.8 x 3.2 x 6.2 inches" The width of this product is only 3" wide, and absolutely useless for my needs. It has not met my expectations, I am not satisfied with this purchase, and I find that I am unable to return this unused item, per Amazon. Save your 5.00 instead of throwing your money away on this product. 1UselessIt came undone immediately. The top popped off, and the lids did not stay closed. You also can't fit larger sized vitamins in them. It is in the recyle bin, as the return period has ended. I would not buy this. I have the seven day one, and that is more sturdy and fits all the pills I need. Also, don't dare turn this one upside down, or you'll lose it all. 1Well constructed pill planner in a compact sizeI have a larger version of this that I keep in my medicine cabinet, and I usually fill it up and bring it along when I travel. Last time I was out of town for a few days, I forgot to bring my meds so I decided to get a second one to keep in my dopp kit all the time. I read through several reviews and questions, but still couldn't get a great idea of how many pills it will hold, so I took a picture (dime for scale since I didn't have any bananas handy) and hopefully it will help someone like me who needs another visual example. In my picture, each slot holds seven regular-sized generic drug store aspirin and closes easily.While I haven't actually used this on a trip yet, it seems well constructed and sturdy, much like the larger version that I've had for several years, so I'm pretty confident it's going to hold up just fine. 5Great little pill boxI carried my pills for the week in a pillbox similar to this that was much larger. When one of the doors broke recently i had to buy a replacement. This one seemed smaller so I bought it. It is much smaller than similar holders (smaller in all dimensions . . . less than 5 inches long and well under 1 inch wide and probably about half an inch deep . . . check the description for actual). I was afraid it wouldn't hold all of my pills but it does. I have one large tablet, one medium prilosec tablet and 3 large pills and that makes it half full. The doors snap closed tightly and I like the rich blue color. The only negative would be if you take dramatically more or larger meds than I do they might not fit.UPDATE: Lowered to 3 stars. I ordered another one of these and got the non-locking variety. To Amazons credit they gave me a full refund but the non locking variety is nothing special. Recommend you order the locking variety which is available on amazon for about $6 with free shipping. 3Wrong color but works great.I ordered this weekly pillbox in Large/Blue for my husband [his favorite color]. It works great for the few pills he takes daily and the lids are quite secure. It's much smaller than I expected but he doesn't take many pills [middle pic shows his "large" purple one next to my "extra large" green one. My only issue: I ordered it in blue, but received purple, which is why I took off one star. Luckily our eldest daughter went to ECU, so purple was ok with him, just not exactly what I ordered. 4
