bad habit all my lifeI developed tendinitis in my shoulder from swimming, surfing and playing the drums. It has been bothering me off and on for a couple of years. I've been told that I have stooping shoulders, bad habit all my life. I believe that the tendinitis was a result of the bad posture so I tried this support to see if it would help. I choose this one because it seemed simple and it got good reviews. I've worn it for a few days and I already feel like my shoulders are getting stronger and are more relaxed. I try to wear it all day, but when I'm not wearing it I automatically keep by shoulders back. I wish I discovered this years ago, good posture is so critical to good health. I have a 37.5 in. chest and I order the large. One does not need to have it tight to work. I have no trouble putting it on. I just put my hands through the loops and leave the support on my forearms. The inside of the support is facing my chest with the V down. I lift both arms straight up and allow the support to fall on my back shoulders with a little adjustment with my hands. If you have the support too tight or too close to the chest, it my be harder to flip it over your head. It seems very easy to me but one with other physical problems such as not being able to life their arms above their heads my need help. 5WorksMy Physical Therapist was taping my shoulder blade down to isolate the muscles in my shoulder that needed exercise. When it seemed to help, I asked if a brace existed that would do the same thing, that I could take on or off. This is what he recommended. Had him fit it for me and take picture of what it was supposed to look like. Circle ended up higher than in the picture to force shoulder blade down. He ended up putting it on upside down as it held the shoulder blade down better. As fringe benefit, Velcro straps are on top of shoulder where I can reach them. If you wear as pictured on the box, only a girl accustomed to putting on a bra can reach the straps. As suggested elsewhere, loosen the strap substantially on one side, put the thing on, then tighten. Not that I bought it for that reason, it does prevent you from slouching, even if put on upside down. Ding because still hard to put on. 4UPDATE - KEY adjustment in position of strapsIf you wear medium sized tee shirt then order medium, has Velcro to get the length of straps just right. It took me a few adjustments of straps to get the right "fit". At first it was way too tight and cut off circulation around armpits. It is more of a reminder to stand In military posture, which is best for the neck and shoulders, as you can still slump if you really try to. But can only wear over clothing. I love wearing it while I walk dog and before going to work. And after wearing 1 week I correct my posture myself without it on. I Use it every morning regardless as retraining the muscles to engage in the upper back is a process. I wish I'd looked for this year's ago!UPDATE: A Key Adjustment needs to be made after putting on brace. simply take a hold of the straps and rotate the straps up - which lowers to the D-ring down the back to the spot in between the shoulder blades. As my pictures show, the D-ring is up too high on the back. After rotating the brace it works even better, keeping the shoulder position stabilized. 5I love when a product performs better than expectedI love when a product performs better than expected. This is such a product. I normally wear a petite medium in a t-shirt and the size medium fit perfectly. I read the comments about getting it on and took it out of the package pre-adjusted, raised my arms above my head, slipped it on so it slid down behind my head and within seconds it was on. After doing this a few times, I realized it's important to make sure the velcro adjustment lands on the bottom when viewed from behind in a mirror. This is important, if not, it isn't so easy to get on. Just luck It landed correctly the first time. Since I don't have any injuries, it was not a problem lifting my arms straight up.It alleviates the collapsed umbrella shoulder look and gives the muscles a rest that create that awful look. There was no break in time, it's extremely comfortable to wear all day over a t-shirt and has a sporty look once on. I tried it underneath and it's a little too bulky looking worn that way unless I wear a blazer too.It does not however, keep my spine washboard straight. That was not my issue and if it was, I probably would have purchased a different item. I does keep my shoulders straight, it does improve my posture and also keeps my chest open so I can breathe better, an unexpected positive benefit. 5worth the money if you have a shoulder injury or have to sit at a computer for long hours at work but takes some getting used toThis was my 2nd order so I decided to write a review. I ordered the first one to use at work and realized that it is difficult to put on and take off on my own without doing as another review suggested and wearing it upside down. It does help to keep my shoulders from rolling forward while I'm at my computer, but does take getting used to. I wear it every other day at work to give my underarms a rest. I have a left shoulder injury that I will probably need surgery to correct, but this helps to keep me from making it worse while working. I also have trouble sleeping because of this injury because I can't sleep on the left side or my back and lately even sleeping on my right side hurts because once I fall into a deep sleep my left shoulder rolls forward and wakes me up in pain, so I actually ordered a 2nd one to keep at home and wear to bed. It's not incredibly comfortable but I am able to get to sleep with it and even though I still wake up often, at least my left shoulder is not in severe pain. 4Very useful product to improve your posture!I work in IT so I am one of the victims of bad posture. I am always slouching when working on my laptop. Because of bad posture, I was having pain in my neck and shoulders due to which I decided to order this product. The material used for this product is nice and soft and is not uncomfortable at all to use. However, the velcros used in the product sometimes stick out if you don't align both the ends perfectly. These velcro strips then rub against your armpit, which is slightly uncomfortable. This could be because the product was larger than what I imagined based on the sizing guide provided.I also think the product would have been more effective if it went around the edge of your shoulders to keep them from slouching. It still does the job if only in slightly a limited fashion.Overall, a nice product. It won't correct your posture by itself but it'll remind you to of your bad posture as soon as you start slouching. I'll order another one for my wife. 4these are fairly comfortable but wish the velcro fastened in the frontthese are fairly comfortable but wish the velcro fastened in the front . . . reaching around with a broken collarboneis challenging (ouch) to say the least. I fasten it and then wiggle into it - getting help if someone is nearby . . . using myhairbrush to reach the final inch or so and slide it up over the broken wing. they do wash up wonderfully - AIR DRY -I keep one to get sweaty (walking) and one to wear otherwise. Most people don't realize it's a brace (which canbe dangerous if someone gives you a big hug - so I'm always prepared to say 'VIRTUAL HUGS ONLY" when I greeta friend) They're a good reminder of posture without wearing too tight. Hands free - more comfortable than a sling. 4Best Posture Support for Petite WomanI've tried a few different supports to help improve my posture, especially since I spend most of my day slumping over a desk. I haven't had a lot of success with shoulder supports mainly because they really are uncomfortable and/or caused rashes. This brace is different. It's very soft and very comfy. It can feel a little tight under the armpits, but not uncomfortable. And it's completely adjustable so you can loosen it up if it becomes irritating.Honestly, I didn't know how much my posture was slacking until I wore this brace. It really helps me to hold my shoulders back and sit up nice and tall. You can still slump forward, but due to how this brace works, it's actually uncomfortable so you correct yourself quickly. It is not difficult to adjust or put on. When I received it, I actually put it on backwards and tightened it, then slipped it off (like a backpack) and then slipped it back on the correct way using that same method. It is a little bulky so it's not something you could wear under clothes.I'm 5'2, 125 lbs, 34 inch across the chest with a small bone frame. The medium fit me, but it just a little big because of where the velco straps sit (in my pits). It's about an inch and a half too long. However, it's easily remedied by folding the edges of the velco back so they sit away from my arm pits. If you're small, you should be able to get a small, but the medium works well too.I'd definitely recommend this product if you want to help improve your posture. 5Nah...not for me.Like many other people I have bad posture from sitting at a desk all day and figured I would try this out. Tough to say if it really works, I didn't try it out long term. I'm athletic and flexible, so when I read past reviews about the difficulty in getting this on and off I didn't worry too much. I should have, because it's a chore to get it on and nearly impossible to get it off without someone's help. Wearing it over a shirt really didn't seem like an option because it's relatively tight. You spent a lot of time adjusting the shirt underneath it to get comfortable, plus it doesn't easily slide over clothes without bunching them up. Wearing on the skin was far more comfortable and easier. In terms of overall comfort, it's just so so. I only tried it for a couple hours or so and it was distracting. Not comfortable or uncomfortable per se, but again that was only after a short amount of time. Thus, it may get better or worse over longer periods of time.In thinking about the concept of what this does....I'm not really sure how it helps posture over time as it doesn't appear to do anything to help strengthen your back muscles that are used to hold your shoulders back. In many ways it replaces your back muscles, doing the work for you. I suspect the back muscles may get weaker over time since not used as much. So I questioned if this would improve things. But I'm not a Dr. so what do I know.Given the cost and comfort issues, I decided to return mine. 2Very uncomfortable under the arms (way too thick / wide under arms)not even close to comfortable when sitting at a PC / computer. the straps under your arms are way too thich AND wide, such that after about 5-10m it is very un-comfortable.I have bought 7 different types of clavicle support straps via amazon over the past 1-2 years, the *only* types ive found to be comfortable for a few hours of use (while sitting at pc) are the ones with very thin / narrow straps under the arms (the solder part can be any size, is the part that goes under your arms, towards your back that needs to be comfortable as it will be up in your arm pits).it makes me wonder if these sellers test / use this stuff, or if they just unbox their pallet order from abroad and start selling. 1
