Happy ear holes: Comfy, economical, with good sound deadeningEveryone's ear holes are unique, but these are the most comfortable earplugs I've ever worn, and I've tried over two dozen types (not joking). I use these to sleep, concentrate on work, and on the shooting range to back up my muffs. They are rated NRR 33 (among the highest rating available), so they effectively reduce normal conversation to a barely-audible whisper. Although these are intended to be single-use disposable, I can get about three uses out of each pair before the plugs become uncomfortable (body oil from your ear canal will build up on any foam plug during use). The plastic jar packaging is perfect for keeping on my nightstand, and creates less waste than the individually wrapped variety.NOTE: These earplugs are a rebranded version of Moldex Meteors, so if you come across a good volume discount on those, know they are identical products. 5flents contour ear plugs.I am a chronic ear plug user. Two things I learned:1- If they hurt then they are too big2- If your ears start itching - its time to get new ears plugsThese fit my ears perfect (I'm a female). No pain and blocks out sounds great. Comes in a big tub so that I always have new clean ones on hand when the used ones are too old. Did not come with a travel case as pictured. I will be buying these again. 5Get purple!!I read a review that mentioned that a long time "flents quiet time" user (which is the purple earplugs) switched over to the "flents quiet contour" (high visibility yellow) because they were better in every way. So, I had just placed my annual order of the purple ones (been using for 4 years or so) when I decided to do a little research. I thought I'd try these "quiet contour" ones, and see what was what. I'm a carpenter by day, also putting in a bit of time in a commercial cabinetry shop so these are a must. I was not impressed with the "quiet contour" ones. They aren't the same type of foam, these ones being more airy I'd say.... They don't expand to the same density. I tested them at the same time and the purple "quiet time" ones easily outperformed and felt better in my ear. They say they have the same noise reduction rating, but I see the green ones say, "manufactured by MOLDEX". Whatever that is, I'm guessing that is where the difference is. A pro-tip, and what sets these apart from the cheapo ones that most employers supply is that if you keep these in your pockets, they can go through the wash a couple times before they're no good. No sense throwing them away after one day's use... 3Better for Small Ears, But Not Amazing.I needed something to block out the neighbor's dogs, who go on barking tirades at 3am, and Husband's occasional snores. I also have smaller ear canals - earbuds don't fit/fall out and most regular earplugs stick way out past my ear and get brushed out by the pillow if I move my head while sleeping. These fit better for me, are comfortable, and dampened the noise considerably. They are still a tad bit too long and I have lost one in the middle of the night a couple times. They also lost their "potency" after about 3 nights of use, meaning they stopped "inflating" all the way after being put in my ears and so more noise got through. 3Comfortable, effective earplugs.Very comfy, block noise well enough that my husband and I still enjoy sharing a bed.I sleep with earplugs literally every single night, and these are a dream. They block a high level of noise and they're very comfortable to have jammed into your earholes for several hours every night.I can, however, still hear my guard Corgi if he borks to alert me, or the smoke alarm goes off, or something. So that's good. 5Amazing fit--for my ears at least. Includes some tips for usage...I wasn't sure about Flents contoured earplugs, and was fairly happy with Flents Quiet Time Ear Plugs, but decided to take a chance on them. After all, I've sold containers of 49-out-of-50-pairs of earplugs that didn't work in the past on that auction website we all love, and the contoured shape of the new ones seemed worth the risk. But now the days of carefully shaping earplugs multiple times to get them in the perfect spot are over, because all it takes to get Flents Quiet Contour Ear Plugs in is rolling them between my fingers so the inner part is narrow and the flared outer part is folded outward, sliding them far enough in the canal to get the bulge inside, and lightly holding it in place while the bulge expands, which takes maybe five seconds. In my case, at least part of the bulge gets past the narrow part of the canals in both ears, blocking out all noise except the sounds I need to hear while keeping the earplug from coming out on its own, and the earplug is long enough to be easy to remove but not long enough to stick out and rub against my sheets or pillow. As if always getting my earplugs in on the first try weren't enough, the Contour plugs work well for not two, not three, but five or six days! Granted, I have to push them in a little after the foam expands after the first three days or so, but there's no more angry jamming things in so far that my ears hurt by morning.I suspect this design could work for a wider range of people than straight or tapered earplugs, especially if they come in two or three sizes, but maybe I'm just lucky. If so, let me wish you the best of luck finding an earplug that works for you!NOW FOR THE CAVEATS:This won't be welcome news to many, but the external part of our ears is almost as unique as our fingerprints, so there is no such thing as an earplug that fits everyone. The outer part of the ear canal is made of cartilage which varies widely, changes shape when we move our jaw, and continues to grow and change as we age. And THAT means that unless you're very lucky, you're going to have to try a lot of earplugs before you find something that works well. I do recommend Flents Quiet Comfort earplugs as a starting point, but you may just have to try different kinds and brands before finding the right ones for you. Also, your sex, height, build, and the size of your outer ear won't tell you how long or wide your ear canals are. I'm female, 5'2", and my outer ears are small and close to my head, but slim earplugs designed for women are too short and narrow for me. 5And I'm deafI purchased these ear plugs because I suffer from something called annoying neighbors syndrome. I'm not entirely certain of their activities, but I would liken the sounds coming from below and across from my apartment to that of an auto shop or a construction site, perhaps even an airplane hanger. It's particularly horrendous in the evening. Therefore, I have resulted to ear plugs to ensure I get a somewhat worthwhile night of sleep. The contour capabilities of these ear plugs make them incredibly comfortable to wear and the lime green color is particularly stylish, if looks are important while you sleep.... After inserting the ear plugs and allowing them to adjust, silence befell my bedroom. I was able to sleep free from the obnoxious noises that surround my apartment. My only complaint is perhaps these ear plugs work a little too well. I missed my alarm... by an hour and a half. For a full 90 minutes my phone alarm was ring-dingling away and the ear plugs blocked every bit of noise. After the initial panic of being late for work wore off, I was slightly amused that my neighbors had to listen to my alarm while I, for once, slept through their douchbaggery. These will be the only ear plugs I wear from now on. And I'm considering a louder alarm, so suggestions would be helpful. 5Stick with Hero's earplugs, the blue ones. I ...Stick with Hero's earplugs, the blue ones. I tried this for a change and regretted it. They kept falling out while I slept. 1Tried many brands ...and, unfortunately, these don't quite cut it. Like many, I've got a snore-mate in the bedroom. I've tried several different brands over the years and thought I'd give these a go since they were on a Lightning Deal. They really fail to exclude sounds that deep and coming from close range -- like snoring! However, they may work well for on-the-job. I've tried two different sets from the same container and inserted / re-inserted to make sure it wasn't a defective pair or user error (although, having used this style of earplug for 12+ years, I'm pretty much an expert by now). They're not bad per se, just not as good as my now go-to brand (I'll never cheat again) -- Hearos Ear Plugs Xtreme Protection Series. https://www.amazon.com/Protection-Cancelling-Disposable-Earplugs-Hearing/dp/B00AJSY162/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1544212502&sr=8-6&keywords=hearos%2Bxtreme&th=1 3Contour makes all the difference.I'm very sensitive to sound. Chewing, loud breathing, neighbor's barking dogs, it all gets in my head far too easily and drives me crazy. As you can imagine, I'm constantly wearing earplugs, both to bed and whenever I'm stuck around irritating noise. I'm plugged up more often than a physician would probably recommend. I've gone through a lot of earplugs as a result, and many different brands.Flent's Quiet Contour is the most functional one yet. I used bullet-shaped plugs for the longest time (Mack's, Hearos, etc), and they would always leak readily whenever I would make facial expressions or tilt my head, especially in my left ear. The bomb-shaped Flent's stay exactly where they're placed, very comfortably, and really fill up the ear canal. It takes deliberate contortion to make them leak.I think the fit contributes heavily to the noise reduction, as well. Anything below normal speaking volume is basically imperceptible, and louder sounds are heavily suppressed by what feels like more than half. Save for urgent or low-frequency noise, these can purge problem sounds from your awareness, entirely. Their suitability for hearing preservation in ultra-loud environments is patently obvious. I haven't found a quieter brand of plugs. My singular complaint is that since they are bright green and have large tails, they're extremely conspicuous, and I can't imagine them going unnoticed in anyone's ears. This isn't a strike against the product by any means, the green is obviously meant to make them easy to locate, and they're a good bit less gross-looking than flesh color; it's just a consideration if you're a weirdo like me and plan on wearing them in common spaces.Overall: fantastic. Would subscribe if I could. 5
