Customer Reviews

nahhhI bought this after I had my third child. This is one of the belly binders my midwife suggested because of the price. I believe you get what you pay for. I wore this right after my baby was born until he was 2 weeks old. After awhIle it began to be irritating. I had to keep adjusting it and rollIing it back down. I was able to tolerate better when I wore it over top of a undershirt . I recommend a belly binder after having a baby just not necessarily this one lol. If your budget is tight maybe. After having a baby your body has enough going, so if you have the money go for a high quality binder! 3Does a good job when that is what's requiredFollowing a complicated hernia repair I found that I would have to wear a binder full time (24/7) for three months and part-time (12 hrs a day) for nine more months. I decided early on that I was going to do exactly what I was told because I have no intention of going in for more surgery! This band is the one that I can wear day and night if necessary. It "softens up" with wear, and I wouldn't dream of exercising without it on. I honestly don't think that it can be worn against the skin for any length of time, though, because the material is scratchy and eventually damaged my skin. I wear it over my clothes when I am around the house, or over a camisole or light shirt under my work clothes when I am out. The narrower size is comfortable and less likely to roll than the wider one that I also have, so it is more comfortable over a long day. I am actually buying a second one today. 4would not recommend for c section recoverystarted rolling down after only one use. Not long enough and I have a short torso. Not good for after c section. It dug into my incision/scar line causing me pain. Stopped wearing it after one use as was worried it would hurt me further after dug into c section incision area rather than help healing. 1Great buy, great value!I purchased this after researching several other abdominal binders to use for post-partum recovery. I chose this binder because the price was right and it had better reviews than other, more popular products on the market. So far, I am really impressed with my results. I have been wearing the binder for 3 days and I already can see a huge difference. When I first put it on, I didn't expect to have much of a change because the compression wasn't very strong, but I was wrong. In the evenings when I remove the binder, my abs are visibly flatter and my stomach is way less poochy.During my pregnancy, I gained 27 lbs total and lost about 21 lbs within the first week. What was left was hanging out around my waist and hips. I could fit into my non-maternity jeans, but I had visible muffin top. With this binder, I don't have that problem. There weren't any recommendations on how long to wear it, so I try to wear it at least 8-10 hours a day because that's the suggested wear-time on other binders I've seen. It does say in the instructions to not wear it against your skin, so I always have a tank top on and place it over the tank top. It hasn't interfered with nursing in any way, nor is it uncomfortable to sit or lay down in. If anything, it makes me sit up straighter and has helped my posture. The only downside is that sometimes it is difficult to get it pulled tight enough if you're putting it on by yourself. It's best to secure the top portion, then pull back the bottom part and re-secure that. That way you get an even amount of compression all across your middle.Good luck! 5A better quality binderI had my fiance order a couple of these binders a few years ago and it was only last January that I got to wear them after my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy. They're just perfect! They don't fold nor roll down when you sit. They actually conform to the contours of my body. I felt secure moving about when I had them on. I both hand and machine-washed them and they're just fine. The Velcro held fast and there was no fraying on the seams, and they stayed elastic. 5Average compression, Uncomfortable fabricI tried several different types of postpartum supports after two pregnancies, including hospital grade binders, one from Loving Comfort, a diastasis recti splint, and this. The compression of the Gabriella binder is fairly comparable to the others. It does help bring the abs back together and provide back support. It also seems to true to size. (I wear a small and it fits)However, as other reviewers have noted, the fabric makes it difficult to wear properly and it becomes uncomfortable within a few hours. While the fabric is breatheable, it has a stiff plastic-y feel. The edges always crinkle and it bunches together so that the vertical height is reduced to about half and it ends up as a folded band around my waist. Now I will say that the others also crinkle on the edges but not nearly like this model. And the fabric chafes my skin!So save your money and get a binder that uses softer fabric! And consider getting a "taller" binder so you can wrap your hips at the same time with only one wrap. 2Great for postpartum but can be bulkyI bought this in a large to wear postpartum after my last pregnancy. It worked really great. The Velcro was nice because I could adjust it for a looser fit the first few weeks after I had the baby, and then I could tighten it up. After about a month and a half I had to buy the next size down to get one that fit nicely. When I finished using it, a relative who had just had a hysterectomy borrowed it and she said it made her recovery faster. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the strip of Velcro ran all the way from the top to the bottom, vertically. It was hard to get it to lay flat without bubbling, and it wasn't completely invisible under my clothes. I ended up having to wear it under my bellyband maternity pants in order to hide the extra bulk. It wasn't enough of a pain that I didn't want to wear it, though. Overall, I'd definitely use this again for future pregnancies. 4It works...I just bought this abdominal binder at four weeks post-partum. After reading the reviews, I decided to order it as if it ran big and ordered one size lower than I would have otherwise - based on the measurement suggestions listed (and in a picture). It doesn't appear to run as small as some have suggested - but it will work. It barely fits now, but it does fit. And since this is for post-partum and I hope to continue to lose the pregnancy pounds and inches, ordering a size smaller just buys me more time without having to order another size now. If this isn't for post-partum and you aren't in the process of losing weight, I wouldn't recommend ordering a size down.It seems to be pretty strong and isn't made of uncomfortable fabric. I wouldn't wear it directly on the skin, but a light cami under it is enough. It's also not so small that it pushes everything up or down - if you have it on correctly, this should be the right size.I recommend it....you can't beat the price! And the perks of a "nicer" one aren't worth the 3x more expensive price tag. :) 3Just okayI bought this for postpartum use. I thought that I would love it but I don't. It does crinkle up at the waist. At times it digs in and is uncomfortable while other times, though it crinkles, it is not uncomfortable. I can't figure out what I am doing differently to make it dig-in. I wouldn't recommend wearing this with tight clothing as you will be able to see the crinkle at the waist. 3Bulky and awkwardI purchased this to use after my cesarean, but after my surgery the nurse explained to me that if I used a compression garment too soon, it could trap the air inside my abdomen and cause pain. So I didn t use this for the first few weeks after my c-section. When I did first try to use it, I couldn't wear it for very long. It would fold and bend on itself and dig into my skin. I found that it wasn t very comfortable and that it was difficult to get on and stay put. The price was good, but I think it would have been better to find something that was more wearable. I ended up using an old pair of spanks instead of this bulky awkward thing. 2
