Very effectively be unless you need it to travelIt is much better than a netipot and is helpful for curtailing allergies and avoiding sinus problems. When it works, it is excellent. However, it's fatal flaw is that it is made so flimsily that it cannot tolerate travel, no matter how carefully cushioned in a suitcase. I have bought four- or possibly five - over the years because they died in a suitcase. They all also seem to leak a bit. Overpriced for how long they they last. Should make it sturdier or reduce the cost. 3Can you please make your product last more than a ...Can you please make your product last more than a year and a few months? I have owned about six of these, and each and every one of them breaks down a little over a year. 2I can no longer recommend an unreliable deviceThis is my fourth Grossun Hydro Pulse machine. When working, this machine keeps me out of the doctor's office and I have come to depend on it as an essential medical device for allergies and severe asthma. My first machine lasted 4 years. My current one, purchased December 29, 2017, has just stopped working. The quality on these machines has diminished. I am using and caring for the machine as I always have. I can no longer recommend an unreliable device. 1Expensive units with cCheap pumps that crack in less than one yearThis is the original irrigator from Dr. Grossan. It was sold to NeilMed. NeilMed put a cheaper pump in them and now they don't even last a year. I have severe allergies, get frequent sinus infections, and have had sinus surgery. These irrigators almost cure me. I use it every day. I take very good care of it. It makes me angry that NeilMed robs people this way. My husband is very handy, but he can't fix a pump that is designed to crack. I've had 3 of these irrigators now and all 3 lasted less than a year with cracked pumps. At $80 each, they're robbing us. I'm going to try a different brand but I suspect all the pumps are the same junk. 1Prefer Grossan over Sinupulse EliteFirst Impression: Prefer this Grossan unit over the SinuPulse Elite Advanced Nasal Sinus Irrigation System which I owned for 3 yrs before the motor quit and had to rebuy. Decided to switch brands because of the constant valve trouble with the SinuPulse Elite over the years (where the plastic container connects to the main unit). This Grossan unit is superior in every aspect in comparison from a non tangled cord, to a handle switch you can turn on/off rather than a pause hold down button, the round container which ends up accumulating less salt solution in its bottom, the nasal tips with a longer slanted handle, the more gentle hydropulse and better quality in general. Worth the extra 10$ pricetag. Glad I made the switch but will hold off giving it 5 yrs until it stands the test of time. 4It works but probably will break before you wishI spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to make my own sinus irrigation machine after the recent sinus surgery failed to drain my frontal sinuses. (Allergy causes swelling shut anyway.) I think it would be a better machine if it had just a little more pressure. I do add betamethasone .75 caps emptied into the usual solution. Sometimes I add Xylitol. If I could figure out what to buy or make, I'd add colloidal silver since the infection is staff and you don't want to make that one stronger with antibiotics. The tip work fine but it takes a minute to snap it in right or itt leaks bad. I would pay much more for a better-made product but it does work good and you can run a whole plastic water bottle through it. Leaning forward lets more water into the hard to reach frontal sinuses esp if you had computer-assisted surgery. btw, vinegar kills staff but if you add vinegar to salt you get hydrochloric acid which well dont try that! maybe a portable dental station from EBAY would be better, not sure. 4This deserves less than 1 star!This has a UK plug that doesn't work in the U.S. without an adapter. When I received the sinus irrigation system, it had no instructions, so I downloaded them from the internet, but when I got it ready to use, I found that it had a United Kingdom plug, which can not be used in the U.S. without an adapter and a converter. I'm returning it today! 1They don't lastI like the way it works and it's more compact than others I've seen so it's better for traveling BUT they seem to have a built-in life expectancy of one year and no more. I just checked when my last order was made and, yep, March 29 of last year. And I did use distilled water, rinsed it, etc. etc. I'm going to look for something different too. 1These fail too quicklyI love this product. It works phenomenally better than all the alternatives. However, I can't give it a good rating because they leak after 6 to 9 months of use and of all 6 I've purchased via Amazon over the years, every one of them eventually fails 12 to 18 months after purchase. A 100% failure rate of an expensive product is pretty rough. 2Works real fine, lasts not so long timeI'm giving this product 5 stars because of what it does, not for how long it lasts. I'm on my second one, and it won't survive the year. Then I'll buy my third. If you suffer from congestion or sinus problems, you must get one of these. It's a lot easier, in my opinion, than a netti-pot. And possibly more effective. But beware, all the other reviews that complain about this thing breaking in less than five years are probably accurate. I don't care. I view this product as a necessary consumable, like my vegetables.Note: I use a teaspoon of salt each time. Even though I rinse it out after every use, salt water is very corrosive. And dried salt is destructive of moving parts. I just put up with it because, while it's working, it's just so darn effective. 5
