Customer Reviews

I'll search high and low for these earplugsI've been using these earplugs for years and I am frustrated whenever I have to use another brand if I forget to pack a pair on a trip. We all have different reasons for using earplugs but for me I use them for sleeping. For sleeping they are by far the best earplugs I have used because of how comfortable they are. They don't fall out of my ears, I hardly notice they are in there when wearing them, and they come out with a simple twisty motion when I'm done using them. Like other reviewers have said, after a couple uses they begin getting softer/harder to work with so make sure you have a few on hand.On a side note, my wife is very petite and has never been able to get earplugs to stay in her ears all night but these do! Little tip in case you didn't know is to pull on the top of your ear upwards when putting them in and then continue to hold your ear up and your other finger lightly putting pressure on the earplug. This way it will keep it from expanding out of your ear. Careful you don't insert it too far in though because it can be difficult to get out of you do that. 5They do the job, but they could be a bit smallerI needed ear plugs to help me sleep at night. My bedroom is right over the living room, so I hear the TV every morning when someone else in the house turns it on. This used to wake me up, so I decided to try ear plugs. These ear plugs work well to eliminate the noise, but they hurt my ears when I take them out in the morning. The reason I purchased these were due to the good reviews, saying how soft and comfy these were, so I thought they wouldn't hurt my ears but they do. Perhaps my ears are smaller than the average adult? I wish they had ear plugs for smaller ears like mine. Then maybe I wouldn't cringe when I pull them out in the morning.Other than that, they are good ear plugs, but if I can find smaller sized ones I will try them instead. 4They work, although they might cause pain if used for a long time. These earplugs do exactly what they're designed to do: reduce the decibels of the noises your ears come in contact with by 32What that means is that when the earplugs are inserted properly:A snare drum sounds distant and quiet even when I'm playing right in front of it.You can hear your body (blood rushing through your head, internal noise when you open your jaws, etc.)You'll probably only notice noise caused by things you notice with your other senses.I took off a star because after wearing the earplugs for a few hours, it gets painful and removing the earplugs gives me a feeling similar to having some sort of pressure change (like diving deep into a swimming pool). If I pull them out too fast after using the earplugs for a long time, it actually hurts. Twisting them out slowly helps with that issue. If you want functioning ear protection or just a way to help you focus, these will do the trick. 4Prop 65 itemUnfortunately these came with the Prop 65 warning, which the page doesn t even notify you. 1IMO, better than Hearos (at least for small ears!)I tried these after being only partially satisfied with Hearos Ultimate Softness Series. I have small ears and find the Howard Leight Laser Lite earplugs to be muuuuuch more comfortable. Neither these nor the Hearos are perfect for eliminating sound, but I do think these are the more effective of the two. However, that could just be because they conform better to my ears? Anyway, at coffee shops I can still hear conversations and music, but it's seriously muted which makes it easy to ignore. I also use these guys every night to block the sound of my super loud air conditioner--a move that's improved the quality of my sleep ten fold. Tip for students: even if there's not any noise, I still find that earplugs help me concentrate! 5I follow them the best I canI use these for sleep, and they don't block things out COMPLETELY,but they reduce noise by a lot.Loud conversations are turned into soft whispers. They're about the size of my pinkie finger, about 4.5 cm.They hurt my ears after a while, which is helpful for waking me up,taking them out,and falling right back asleep without worrying about not hearing my alarm, but some people would probably prefer to not wake up.Of course, how well they work and how they fit could be due to me not putting them in properly. There's vague instructions on the package, but look up "Howard Leight ear plug instructions" and there's a clear PDF of all types of his ear plugs - including these.I follow them the best I can,but I'm unsure about if I'm rolling them into a smaller size right or not.An instruction video would be really helpful.Either way,I'm satisfied with these and my sleep has improved a lot. They're individually wrapped with easy opening inside a zip-lock bag that holds all of them, which is nice.Packaging is always important for me!This pack will last me a month, give or take a few days.I'll probably bump up to the 100-pack. 4works wellThis were a little large for my ears, so I went with the green 'lites', but either way, I just cut off most of the tip, roll the stub that is left, and place that in the opening of my ear canal. It doesn't go all the way into my ears that way, but still creates a good seal that blocks out a good amount of sound. Some youtube 'thundersounds', 'rain', 'fan', or 'water boiling' background noise with or without headphones and it's a pretty good study session. Great for sleeping with a white noise machine for added backup as well. 5Saved my sleep! These are amazing! My boyfriend snores like a grizzly bear and when these are in- total silence. These cancel out most sounds, but if a smoke alarm went off you'd still hear it. They're pretty comfortable, just don't shove them in too far, it can hurt. Did that once, my mistake. These are great and at a great price!I will definitely be repurchasing! 5Comfortable plugs that offer significant noise reduction.Very easy to use and very effective at reducing noise.I use them specifically for when riding motorcycles. The wind noise inside my helmet becomes a problem if I ride for anymore than about half an hour. So I have sveral pairs of these tucked inside my various riding jackets so I always have a pair handy. They are supposed to be single use, but I have no problem getting two or three wearings out of each pair.I chose these because they have the highest level,of noise reduction while still being easy and convenient to use. I figure if you're going to use ear plugs you may as well get the noise reduction possible. They are very comfortable compared to generic cylinder style plugs I have used. No trouble wearing these for hours at a time. The flared bases do make it much easier to remove. I've use other ear plugs that have a simple cylinder shape and they can sometimes be problematic because if you insert them even the slightest bit too far they become very difficult to remove. The flared base helps by giving you a guage as to how far you should insert them and gives you more surface to grip when removing. The only thing I don't care for is the obnoxious colors. I know why they make them this way but it would be nice to have an option for a color that is more subtle. Not a big deal as I usually remove them as soon as I remove my helmet, so it isn't a reason not to recommend these. 5Leaves a pink stain in your ears.Functionally speaking, as earplugs, I have no problem with this product. They fit my ears well and block out an adequate amount of noise. I did not experience any discomfort when using them. However, the next morning, a cotton swab from my ear came back pink. The next time I wore the same pair, I checked this again, and it happened again. So, clearly, these plugs are leaching some sort of pink dye into the ear canal, which is somewhat disconcerting. I'd love to assert that this is probably harmless, but I'm unqualified to make such an assertion. In retrospect, I would have preferred to have purchased an earplug that did *not* leave some sort of chemical dye behind in its wake. No other earplug I have tried has ever left a stain inside my ear canal. Thus, I do not recommend this particular earplug, unless pink ears is what you're going for. 3
