YUP. This stuff works and also, CRAY dreams! My husband and I have never taken any kind of Magnesium product before this one, so my view is limited and probably pretty biased! That being said - we are both in our 30's with three smallish children. They are not newborns, but like most kids - still wake up more often than ideal, and we pretty much just both don't sleep very well at this point in life (that could also be our mattress, I need firm and my husband needs soft....and our mattress is firm, poor guy)... Moving on...Since we have been taking this product (we both only take one tablet, which is half of the recommended dose and approximately only 200 mg - not the full 400), I kid you not,our sleep has actually been deeper!I wasn't sure what to expect, so in case anyone is wondering, it doesn't "make you sleepy," like a melatonin would. I prefer that since I don't feel like my sleepiness is being forced. Both my husband and I have noticed that when we take this Magnesium, we both dream a lot more. In fact my dreams are seriously crazy and I can recall them easier. Sometimes I'll have 3 or 4 dreams that I can remember!I used to struggle with not being able to go back to sleep at night if the kids woke me up, and would end up being upfront for an hour or two trying to get back to sleep... Since taking this, going "back to sleep," has been much easier for me and I have not had one night with insomnia in the couple weeks of taking this.I don't see any adverse reactions at this time.Go ahead and have yourself a nice little sleep. You deserve it! 5Great form a Magnesium although it does not fully get digestedI have irregular heartbeat and DR suggested I boost my Magnesium. I was already take Magnesium Citrate, but did not want more of that due to it side effects and that I wanted something that had a higher efficacy. when I researched Glycinate I liked what I read, it has a benefit in that it has higher absorption, had a calming effect and could also offset upset stomach. Having GERD I wanted to give this s a try. So far I like the results. I do find it has a mild calming effect, it seems to settle my stomach a bit and I feel far fewer irregular heartbeats than I used to. The only negative I have found with these is they do not get broken down as well in the digestive system. It is not unusual to see a portion of the tablet undigested on exit. It appears the outer coating of the tablet does not get digested or break down well, but the rest of the tablet appears to be gone so hopefully the remainder was fully absorbed. 4You learn something new everyday...I used to use mag oxide but discovered recently that this was not effective. After researching, I discovered that the most effective form was mag glycinate, which is chelated, rendering the mag more bioavailable to the body. As an RN who's also holistic, I use this product to help me sleep better. Works well. 5Using for years with great results! My doctor recommended I take Magnesium G. for constipation and stress. I started taking this a couple of years ago and am a huge fan. Two pills was too much so I only take one pill in the evening with dinner and make sure to have a glass of water with it. Makes me pretty regular. Side benefits are that I seem more relaxed in the evening and (not sure this has anything to do with it) after about six months of use, I noticed that I had less gray hair and that I had more hair. Super happy with this product. 5Magnesium glycinate eased my chronic hives!Out of all of the supplements that I have taken in recent years, this one has made the most dramatic impact on my health. I have suffered from chronic idiopathic urticaria, better known as chronic hives, on and off since 2004. Antihistamine medications such as Allegra, Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec, Xyzal, Clarinex, and ChlorTrimeton had become ineffective. My body felt hot and itchy on a daily basis, and sometimes my lips would swell.I tried other supplements that purportedly relieve the symptoms of chronic allergic hive reactions such as stinging nettle root, vitamin C, grape seed extract, quercetin and bromelain, all with minimal to zero impact. However, once I started taking magnesium glycinate in the summer of 2015, my resistant case of hives resolved almost immediately. Supposedly it is due to magnesium's ability to reduce chronic inflammation in the body. I will continue to take this supplement as long as it is not contraindicated.I should mention that I tried the cheaper form of magnesium known as magnesium oxide. This form is poorly absorbed. To keep a long story short, it did not work for me. However, the magnesium glycinate worked wonders. 5Magnesium is good stuff!I found out that I need magnesium by accident, when I was reading about calcium supplements. I used to get really bad cramps in my feet and legs, especially at night and magnesium works really well for that. Magnesium Glycinate is one type of magnesium that DOES NOT cause diarrhea. For that reason alone I recommend this product. KAL is a company with a good reputation as well. 5Contains magnesium stearateI just realized this supplement has magnesium stearate as a filler...went to cancel the order but it's already shipped. Magnesium stearate is a GMO filler and considered a toxin in the body that prevents absorption of nutrients. Now I know why it's relatively inexpensive....Best to go with a supplement that doesn't have fillers such as stearate or magnesium stearate, such as the magnesium glycinate by Pure Encapsulation. It's more expensive but I'll be switching back and returning tbis one when it arrives. 1Great for anxiety / depression!I suffer from anxiety at times and I read an article in psychology today from a doctor who talked about using an old fashioned treatment to help with anxiety / depression. He said he had been successful treating people with this form of magnesium (glycinate) who had not had any luck with the normal pharmaceuticals. I will not use any drugs and so I felt like this was at least worth a try.Can I say, oh my goodness - this stuff is amazing. I take 1 pill in the afternoon whenever the anxiety comes. It has been a God send to me. I have told many others about this. Its side affects are all 100% positive. If you are a little skeptical, try googling "Magnesium for depression" What have you got to lose?? 5If you have AFIB, you had better listen...I'm not a doctor but I do know quite a bit about my own heart issues. I have had a double bypass, 15 stents to date and, about two years ago,I started having AFIB issues (non-valve related.) Okay, I take Sotalol (Betapace) to regulate my heart and I take other heart meds too, mostly to thin my blood and control blood pressure. When the Sotalol stopped working, I was having AFIB episodes pretty frequently, having to call the squad, use oxygen, go to the emergency room, and so on. My cardiologist (at the Ohio State University Hospital) wanted to stick me on Tikosyn, (a bad drug as far as I'm concerned because it's linked to a lifetime commitment of going back to the clinic to adjust the dosage and you can't just go off it or you'll have violent withdrawal.) There's also a lot we don't know about the drug so it is a last resort from my view.By pure chance, someone mentioned Magnesium tablets to me. Well, one laughs this stuff off when you've been through what I have because somebody (who doesn't have heart trouble) is always suggesting some manner of snake oil cure. For the heck of it I read a lot of testimonials online and, to my surprise, many people with similar problems as I have ended their AFIB with Magnesium.I can tell you that I did NOT want to do Tikosyn, which also involved a three-day hospital stay to get me off the Sotalol, (and an almost guaranteed bad AFIB episode when they did), so I tried it. My first try, I didn't do it right. I took a type of Magnesium that was only about 27 mg. That is not nearly enough. BUT I had a minor AFIB episode, much less painful than previous ones, and I took 200 mg of these pills and I converted back to normal rhythm in record time, about 6 hours. It usually took 14-20 hours.I re-read the literature online and landed on *this* product, Magnesium Glycinate 400 mg, which I take twice daily, religiously. That was four months ago and I have not used Oxygen nor had an AFIB episode since. My regular physician encouraged me to partake of this experiment because it was cheap and easy. I changed nothing else in my meds (continuing the Sotalol) and added the Magnesium. Success! Since my experiment, my doctor is telling all his non-valve AFIB patients about it because it *might* work for them too. I have experienced no side effects from this product.I will tell you to forget taking Magnesium Oxide that you get at Wal-Mart because your body cannot absorb it. There are some other alternatives but this one is best of all. It doesn't really matter what brand you buy as long as it is *Magnesium Glycinate 400 mg*. The manufacturers cannot tell you all this but I can. If it works for you as it has done for me, then it was worth my time to write this review. If not, well it didn't cost you much to find out.Oh yeah, WHY do cardiologists not talk about this stuff? Because Tikosyn guys make money on Tikosyn therapy, stent guys make money on stents. If you go to a Tikosyn guy and say, "What do you think I need?" he's going to say, "Tikosyn." But they can't make much on peddling magnesium pills. That's the best way I know how to explain it.If you have any questions for me on this or about details of my medicines, etc., please feel free to ask. I have no financial connections with this product or with this company. I ordered this particular brand by mere chance. I should tell you than I'm 60 years old and a smoker. Highly recommended. 5Life changing product!!!Life changing product! I suffered from social anxiety and tried everything to get better. After many years of trial and error, I finally came upon this product. After 3 months of taking magnesium glycinate my anxiety subsided and I can now live my life to the fullest. I can't recommend this product enough to anyone who is suffering from anxiety. I take 1 pill in the morning and 1 pill at night. It is gentle on the stomach too. I never even thought about magnesium deficiency to be the cause of my anxiety but once I was able to identify it, this product quickly got me back to my normal state of mind. Give it a try and be patient. Don't give up! 5
