Customer Reviews

Perfect Support, Excellent PriceFractured my hand in two places and could not find the proper splint anywhere in stores and those that where available where too expensive or wasn't covered by my insurance. This splint gave excellent support to my hand and my ring finger, elevated my wrist, and help reduce the pain. Contains medal strips that help stabilize everything perfectly. The velcro was strong and long lasting even after U washed in the washing machine. I had to wear this particular item for 6 weeks and when I returned to doctor, everything was healing well. Would highly recommend, especially those whose fracture extends to their fingers. 5sizing chart is wrongThe sizing chart is wrong, so I ended up ordering one that was too big so now I have to return it when i need a brace now and even paid over night shipping. 1Good Brace but didn't work for meThis splint was very good; however, I had to return. My left hand is partially paralyzed so getting my 2 outside fingers in the wrap was very difficult for me. Once I had it on for a few minutes the outside edge of my hand and fingers would start to cramp. It was too hard for me to deal with so returned. Had my situation been different I am sure it would have been great. 4It's something that one wears all day and could be better built. That saidMom fell and fractured a small bone below her pinky finger. This was the only brace to work for this type of injury. However, after 2 months the straps began to fray. It's something that one wears all day and could be better built. That said, it still worked and I recommend it as there are few choices out there for the price. 4Great Brace but size runs smallIt is a good quality brace and is the best over the counter thing to use for a fractured 4th or 5th metacarpal. It has metal in it to adjust the wrist angle. Most doctors suggest 20 degrees at the wrist and 45 degrees at the knuckle. Only down side is the size runs small. I would suggest getting 1 size larger. 5Great buyI broke my hand and was still working the very next day. I work in construction and it's physically demanding. So I was able to use this product and it kept my hand in place. I broke my ring finger so I was able to wrap my 3 fingers instead of 2 to keep my ring finger from moving side to side. This product saved my paychecks and I'm very thankful for it. I definitely recommend it. 5I can function again, Just a little uncomfortableMy hand seems to have bruised along my index knuckle as well as had some surface skin run off like a rug burn from the middle strap. Maybe I need to adjust it. So, comfort is lacking. I've only had it on for 3 days. If you're injured I would recommend having someone help you shape the glove. Bending it with an injured hand may be risky since it takes a lot of force. I had to do it alone and it's been a slow process of trial and error. All in all, I'm actually very happy with it. I can write with my hand again, I can perform well at work (bartender/server), and I feel like my 5th metacarpal is protected more so than the temporary splint the hospital gave me. I do have a slight rip out of the box but I think I can just super glue it. Seems like a manufacturing flaw that could happen with any product. I recommend it. 4a little bigger than i thought but stableFollowing a review saying that these are made small, I choose a large but I should have got a medium. It still fit but I can see it's not perfect for my hand. I have a broken 5th bone (metacarpe) in my hand and went to see the doctor but they returned me home like that with and appointment in 2 weeks to see a specialist. They did not even stabilize this fracture and put anything on it, so I ordered this splint to help and it does help and keep my hand stable during the day and when sleeping at night.Don't ever envy our health cares here in canada because it's expensive in taxes and the service sucks. It's 12 to 15 hours wait at the hospital for a fracture and they tell you it's not urgent! I had to return home whit my broken hand unfixed. I am really glad for this splint as now I will be able to sleep! 5Small-not for petite womanSeems like it would be a good product but not for petite hands. I got a small. Length was ok but width was to big. Just couldn't get it to align right. Straps wrapped almost the whole way around just to try and make a tight fit. But my hands are tiny. My wedding ring size 3.5, if that helps any. Had to return it. 3Does what a splint should do.I don't understand why so many people were unhappy with this product. The only fraying I saw was slight, and it was where the Velcro wrist strap touched the fabric. I didn't take my splint on and off all day, nor did I continually adjust it; maybe others did and that's why it happened to them.People complained about the price but I felt the product was priced fairly. I haven't received a bill yet from the clinic, but I'm guessing I will be charged more for the plaster and cotton gauze half cast than I paid for two splints. Yes, two. In case one got wet (accidentally or washed), I wanted a dry one. I rotated the splints daily (wore each one every other day) to give them a chance to air out, as well.I wore the half cast the clinic put on for about a week, but hated the fact that in order to to turn my hand I had to move my entire arm, pivoting at the shoulder. I cut through the cotton gauze so I could remove the half cast. I wore the splint during the day and the cast at night (wrapped it with an ace bandage) because I was afraid thrashing in my sleep might undo the healing process and the cast offered the stiffest support. I took the splint off when showering but took care not to use my hand to hold the soap or back brush, as that could have applied pressure to the bone before healing was sufficient to do so.Some people complained about the fit. I didn't pull the straps tight enough to cut off my circulation. My goal was to keep my HAND from bending while the fifth metacarpal healed and the splint did that. I was not doing a lot with my hand; it was broken and needed to be babied. This was difficult as I am right handed and had to learn to do a number of things with my left hand and it took ever so much longer to a lot of things because of this. I did not expect the splint to allow me full use of my hand while healing. If you use this product as it was intended - a device to immobilize your hand enough to allow proper healing while allowing you to turn your wrist (which is a bit more comfortable than the alternative) while you are babying the injured hand - I think you will be satisfied. 5
