Great bang for your buckFish oil is a great supplement for anybody to add to their vitamin regimen. It assists in promoting healthy cholesterol levels, strengthens bones, boosts your mood, and assists in moisturizing your skin and hair. This product contains a great amount of bang for your buck when considering the number of pills you get, not to mention the mg. per pill. 5And no fishy burping or anything like that. Slight fish odorHuge bottle. HUGE! And no fishy burping or anything like that. Slight fish odor, but only when you open the bottle. No intense taste or aftertaste. The gels are rather large, however, about less than or equal to an inch. 5the bad smellthe bad smell after belching Sometimes I get them and sometimes I do not. I will not buy this product again. I could pay much less for a product that has that effect. 3It's Fish OilI'm still alive so hopefully these things are working. 4Helped my dogI bought these to help with my dog's skin condition. She gets 3 in her breakfast, it's a struggle to get her to swallow them but shes more than happy to eat them. Within a few days of starting her on fish oil her itchy flakey skin began to clear up. Now that she been getting consistent fish oil she hasnt had the skin issues she had previously. 5Can use for pets tooVet recommended for my dog s bad hips. 5A "different" kind of review..I actually bought these fish oil pills for my cat. I had adopted her from the shelter and she had been sick. She was underweight, looked sickly in general and her fur looked ragged. She had been shedding like crazy, to the point of fur just falling off in clumps and leaving bare patches of skin. She has long hair that you could tell had the potential to be beautiful, but something was missing in her system, or otherwise going wrong somewhere. She had bad dandruff as well. She slept more often than she was awake, was generally lazy and seemed to lack any sort of ambition at all. I felt so bad for the poor girl. After about 3-4 weeks of this and no change, I started asking around for ideas as the vet thought she was fine and nothing to worry about..So, at the advice of another pet owner, it was recommended that I try fish oil for help with the fur/skin/dandruff issues, at least. I would poke a knife tip in one end of a capsule and then squeeze the oil onto her wet food. After a few days - maybe just short of a week - I started seeing a HUGE difference in my cat in so many ways. Her fur started growing back in, the bald spots filled in, it started looking shiny and healthy and fluffy. She became much more active and did not sleep the day away. She started coming to us for attention and love and was playful like a happy kitty. She started putting on weight finally. Her eyes looked brighter and healthier. It was just a total turnaround for the better. I was amazed and so happy. It is like the pills "restored" her. She now is a "normal," healthy kitty and I continue to give her the fish oil. She loves it and will meow for me to get it for her. She gets wet food once a day and she knows when it is time. When I get the food out, she stands in front of the fridge, looking up at the cupboard where the pills are kept and meows.I did stop giving her the oil from the pills for a short time to see if it was coincidence or not and sure enough her fur started looking bland and drab and she was shedding more again. Not in globs, but still a noticeable amount and her dandruff came back. So, I went right back to using them and I will continue to do so. It seems to be good for her and she likes it, so there is no reason to discontinue.I haven't noticed any fishy smell on her or any adverse affects. The oil itself when I squeeze it out onto the food doesn't have a strong odor. I know when I was comparing prices and indregrient amounts and reviews, people would comment on the strong odor of some of the pills, having fishy breath or burps afterwards, etc. I don't know if it makes a difference since I was giving it to a cat or not, but it doesn't seem like these have that effect. I imagine that is a good thing whether cat or human.I know this isn't a typical review for this product, since it is marketed for humans, however I thought maybe someone might find it useful and I do think the positive results we had are worth mentioning. 5Great for our dogWe adopted a golden retriever who had severe atopic dermatitis. We started giving her 1 fish oil, 1 zyrtec, and three benedryl with each meal and bathing her with baby shampoo every 2 weeks. She is 95% cured. (she still gets some small spots every now and then) 5They happily pop the capsules in their mouthsI give these to our dogs. They happily pop the capsules in their mouths. It's a perfect healthy skin treat in the desert. The only drawback is that they come running when I open that cabinet now :) 5Good for heart, bad for transformationI'm sorely disappointed in this product, as I've been taking it for months and I'm still not a fish. As a heart health supplement, it's great, as it does not have a fishy smell once consumed, but I have to wonder if this lack of fishy smell or burp is the same reason why it's ineffective at turning me into a fish. 5
