Great Work Boot Insoles for Concrete!!For work I stand and walk alot on concrete. I also go up and down ladder and steps most of the day as well depending on the job. My work boots are Red Wing 963, width D, size8 1/2. The old soles were shot and my feet were starting to kill me. I ordered these to give them a try. These are great!! They are an exact fit to the boot. Also they seem to be exactly the same as the old insoles as far as arch location on the insole. The heal has extra padding and the insole is alot more firm compared to the existing red wing one. I've wore these for about 10 days now and my feet feel great. It does take about 5 or so days for your feet to break into the new insole. The break in period felt just noticeable I had different insoles but never hurt my feet. I will be buying more!! 5They made the shoes much more comfortable, but the arches on these insoles are very ...I bought these insoles for my work shoes. I regularly wear a pair of Dockers Gordon oxfords, and the stock insoles had compressed to the point they weren't providing any cushioning for the front of my feet. The Spenco's have a substantial amount of cushion throughout, but especially at the heel. They made the shoes much more comfortable, but the arches on these insoles are very high, and may cause discomfort for those with flat feet. 4My Feet Are Now Singing!Reviews are just opinions, and feet, as you know, come in slightly different shapes as well as sizes. It may be helpful to keep that in mind as you read these reviews.I desperately needed a better pair of insoles because, as a middle/high school language arts teacher and an event photographer, I spend a LOT of time standing and walking on concrete floors. Additionally, I'm constantly being challenged by my Fitbit friends to daily and weekend contests -- plus my living space has been constructed onto a concrete slab. Got the picture?My order of these insoles arrived today. I immediately inserted them into my New Balance walking shoes and slipped them on. Immediately, my feet began to sing! The difference is diametric and -- NO -- I hadn't been using a standard go-to brand of insoles.These Spenco Polysorb Heavy Duty Maximum All Day (the name itself is a great selling point!) fit into my New Balance size 10 wide walking shoes perfectly.I usually wear a 10 medium but purchased my walking shoes in a 10 wide because I knew I'd want to buy insoles for them; the wide allows additional space for the insoles to fit easily into the shoes and for thicker socks. However, you can trim these insoles to fit if necessary.With my walking shoes now this comfy, I am very much looking forward to tomorrow's photography assignment -- concrete floors and all...BOTTOM LINE: Buy them! They're hand washable too. 5Love SPENCO...but not these. Want amazing support? You want the BLUE & ORANGE SPENCO TOTAL GEL SUPPORT insertsI purchased these as a replacement to my previous purchase of Spenco Total Gel Support 46-300 which were amazing! I'm on my feet all day at work and was so happy with my previous pair that I'd worn out wearing on the job daily for 3 months. When I received the green ones I knew they were slightly different but thought it would close to my last pair. Not even. People, I'm telling you right now- if you want awesome cushioning and support that won't leave your feet tired and aching at the end of the day what you want are the BLUE AND ORANGE - SPENCO GEL TOTAL SUPPORT #46-300 inserts. Look for the Blue and Orange (see picture below). 3The best supports I have used over 16 years.I've been using Spenco supports since 1997 and Spenco stands behind them, not to mention they are the ideal remedy for my bad ankle. With these supports I went from only walking to jogging 5 or more miles, and up to 10 miles with no ankle problems. Pretty fair for age 72. I also use them for regular dress shoes where I have to stand for long periods. Shipping was fast on on time. UPDATE: Still going strong at 75! 5Not good for being on your feet all dayI m a cashier and I stand on concrete 4 to 7 hours a shift. I was hoping that the cushioning layers in this insole would help keep my heels from hurting or at least prolong the time it takes for my feet to hurt. These insoles instead made my feet hurt quicker, and sometimes causes almost agonizing pain. The cushioning material is stiffer than I would have liked, causing the insole to press directly on the heel bone and on different pressure points on my feet, making my feet hurt more. The insole doesn t cradle the heel. I haven t tried many insoles, but I ve had better luck wearing PowerStep Pinnacle Maxx insoles, which is what I was wearing before these insoles. My feet still get sore, but not nearly as much as these Spenco insoles. I would probably only wear these insoles if I was running quick errands, but not for more than two hours. 1great 'shaped cushioning inserts!'I've had a lot of foot problems over the last few years. I've tried dozens of shoe inserts to find ones that help reduce my discomfort. These inserts are great 'shaped cushioning inserts.'Shoe inserts come in two basic types: 1) Rigid support inserts, 2) Cushioning inserts.This product is a great example of a cushioning insert that provides a bit of arch support by shaping the foam cushioning under the arch and hollowing out the heel pocket a bit. This product is not completely neutral, but isn't stiff and rigid. Combined with the right shoe, these inserts provide maximum cushioning and shock absorption, and a little bit of arch support.Of course, each person's feet are unique, and you have to find inserts and shoe combinations that work for you by trial and error. Good luck ! 5LOVE THESE! THEY EXTEND THE TREAD LIFE OF MY SHOES AND MY FEET!I've been using these Spenco inserts for many years. I put them in all my running shoes, hiking boots, and riding boots. They extend the life of my feet and legs all day long! A real life saver when you are on your feet sometimes 15 hours a day! And reasonably priced here on Amazon above the brick and mortar stores and sport shops that want to charge double! Love these better than gel inserts, better than Dr. Scholl's inserts which are price and can't hold up like these. I will continue to buy these in the future. They last a long time for me and can take a shoe that has a worn out insole and stretch the life of the shoe for much longer - even a year or two at least! 5Thicker than most, less arch support than mostGot these today, trimmed them up, and took a walk. Seem to be pretty thick, so I m hoping it helps alleviate the foot pain from 12+ hrs day in my boots. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars, because I have long, skinny, narrow, flat feet. These insoles help fill some volume due to my low volume foot, but has very little arch support and a low heel cup. I prefer a bit of arch support to help align my flat foot, but I also need the thick insole to take up the volume. If they had one for both concerns, it would be nice.These are very thick compared to most insoles, however I don t see any real difference between them and a basic insole as far as cushioning type technology. Granted I m not a foot expert or dr of any kind, I am the owner of about 8 types of work boots with varying types of insoles. If you have a pair or red wing, red colored insoles, I d keep those as they re basically the same thing. Little better than my Ariat factory insoles, and much thicker than my Thorogood factory insole. See how they treat me in about 6 months, but for now they seem to serve their purpose, and definitely are a cheap option compared to some of the other kinds available. 4Reasonably priced heavy duty insoles for work/hiking bootsThe insoles in my Wolverine Novack boots needed replacing, and these Polysorb insoles met my budget target and size requirements. They were about 3/8" too long, so I had to trim them with scissors a little, using the original Wolverine insoles as a template. After trimming, they fit perfectly, and my favorite hiking boots are now good as new - maybe better than new, actually, because they're fully broken in. The polysorb insoles have a higher profile arch support than the original insole that came with the boot, so they feel a little strange at first, but I assume the arch support will pack down with use and I won't even notice it after a couple of hikes. I'm glad this product exists, because the Wolverine boots were almost $150 and I would hate to have had to discard them just because the insole was worn out. These insoles will likely work well in almost any work boot or hiking boot, but may be too thick to use in dress shoes that have a less roomy toe box than boots typically do. Will update this review after my next hiking trip when the insoles will get 20+ miles of walking on them.UPDATE: 1/30/2016. With these insoles installed in a pair of Wolverine Novack 11.5" EW boots, I did a 3 mile hike in them, over a mix of 80% dirt trails and 20% asphalt pavement. The insoles were comfortable, didn't chafe anywhere, and I didn't get a blister. The arch support isn't quite in the same place as the stock insole that came with the boot, so it felt a little odd, but I imagine I'll get used to it after another couple of hikes. I am satisfied with them and will be ordering another set for my size 12EW Wolverine boots that I wear with double thick socks in very cold weather.UPDATE: 5/14/2016. Have now made 6 hikes with these insoles in my boots, totaling about 40 miles. They are holding up well and seem to be at least as durable as the OEM insoles. Will update 1 more time when the insoles are worn out to let you know how long of service life you can expect. 5
