Deceptive descriptionDeceptive description:I read great things about Tefla Kendal products, which led me to this purchase. What I was sent was Covidien.Latex: while the description does not state it is latex-free, I found the photos to conveniently cover the notice that is printed both on the box and each individual packet that these dressings DO CONTAIN LATEX. See the photo I've posted to see the latex warning (which is clearly "hidden" on the photos posted by seller. (Inverted triangle on bottom of box and top middle of packet = latex warning)I will be returning this item for these reasons. 2Great Bandages. These are great bandages. They are nice sized and can be cut down to size. With the adhesive already on it they are so easy to use with out having to hassle with tape. They are also prices very good compared to store bought bandages. For what I actually spent I got probably close to 5x what I would've gotten for large bandages at the drugstore and not nearly as useful a product. Completely satisfied and would definately recommend to anyone that needs to dress a wound.. 5Essential bandages to have on hand. For anyone who needs a customizable bandage to cover a wide range of wound sizes, these bandages are so customizable it is a valuable addition to my medicine cabinet. Moreover the adhesive area is small enough it facilitates air reaching the wound to speed healing. The adhesive is very strong which is great, but I found that changing the bandage twice a day everyday left small amount of sticky residue on my skin by the third day. The pad is coated on both sides so the bandage doesn't stick to the wound and it prevents any residue from the wound from seeping through to clothing or bedding. Great product. 5Good made in the USA product, Convidien/Kendall telfa is the same. This is a review for the Telfa model 7643 adhesive dressing or bandages. I bought mine from MaxCare and was fulfilled by Amazon.First, these are now not Kendall, but Covidien brand. Covidien I guess bought out Kendall, and now makes them, so they are now Covidien Telfa instead of Kendall Telfa. But overall, same product.. sort of. and is still made in the USA too.I had some old ones that were the Kendall version, from a couple years ago, and was just about out, so I wanted to buy some more. When i got the new ones in, I opened one up and compared the two, old and new. These are the non stick type of dressings, that have some sticky or glue on the edge of the dressing that is about 3/8" wide, and is only on 2 sides, the longer sides, so you do not need any kind of tape to apply these, and have them stay in place. When comparing them to the old Kendall ones I have, these new Covidien ones, the gauze in the center, to me, it seems like it is something like 30% thinner then the old ones made by Kendall. It may be just my imagination, as they are really thin, but I checked them side by side, and even compressed them down to compare the pressed versions, and that is what it looks like to me, that they have less gauze in the center now. Other then that, they seem like they are the same product as when Kendall made them. These are white in color. The ones that Kendall made where a tan/light brown color, but I guess Covidien only makes them in white. When they say light draining, they mean light. While you can put some other type of gauze under it to double up on the gauze part, just know, these do not handle that much draining. They still have the non stick outside wrapping, just like they did when Kendall made them. and are still individually wrapped too. The use by date on my box has a date of 2019-05, or about 4 years. The packaging does have a warning that says, "Caution: The packaging of this product contains dry natural rubber".. It also has a DEHP symbol with a big X though it too. I looked that one up and found that it is a plastic softening agent called "di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate" and it is now banned from being used in the EU due to heath concerns.. so it not being used here is a good thing.Overall, they seem about just as good when Kendall made them, and are still a good product. If I had any complaints, it would only be that I wished the gauze in the center was a little thicker and more absorbent, and I liked the tan color better. Other then that, no complaints. One thing I would like to note. I have seen others that have complained or stated that they did not get Kendall ones, and left a negative about the product because of it. I am not really sure if the seller actually did a bait and switch, or if they got the new ones with the Covidien name on them, and because they did not say Kendall, they just assumed the worse. I have had people in the past advertise one product, and then send a completely different brand in place of the one that they had advertised, so i know it happens. That is why, when I put my order in, I got the ones from MaxCare, because amazon filled the order and Amazon is usually pretty good at making sure that the product brands match up. Because of these things, a lot of people have left bad ratings for the product, which should have not gotten those bad ratings as the product itself was not really bad, and they are blaming the product for what the seller possibly did wrong. This should be shown on the sellers end, not the products, and for this reason, I am giving it 5 stars, when I think it deserves 4 due to other buyers stupidity of blaming a product for what the seller did wrong. That is the exact reason why you can leave seller and product feedback people. If the seller does wrong, leave a bad seller rating, not product that you never tried. 5I kept a good occlusive ointment on the pads and they came off ...I bought the adhesive bandages to keep some severe road rash from laying my Honda Goldwing down on pavement to avoid a T bone collision with a driver that started to make a left turn in front of me. My knees and forearms and one elbow were areas that had to be kept covered. There was no need to use any tape to keep the bandages in place with the adhesive strips that were on the Telfa pads. I kept a good occlusive ointment on the pads and they came off without damaging the granular tissue as it formed. I did get a little skin irritation from the adhesive, but it is a trade off. Because the adhesive is so good, it tends to take a little hide off after a while. No complaints on the product and I am 100% satisfied. The few I have left will go with us when we travel. 5Medical supplies online have not saved my life. But they've made it more convenient.I often have significant injuries. The vast majority of which are flesh wounds. For a long time I've gone to the supermarket and gotten the $5 pack of all of two gauze pads but comes in a box that would fit a hundred (and those don't even come with adhesives).Well no longer. These are large and generally cover any wound. They don't come off easily and won't let you down if you're doing something athletic and trying to avoid significant loss of blood from the many injuries you've accumulated probably doing the same athletic thing you're doing now.My only point of note is that the adhesive itself is perhaps better than the bandage and it will rip apart if you try to remove them too quickly. Take your time and remove them slowly if you don't want to spend even longer removing them in pieces. 4Doctor recommended these for my surgical site dressingI used these after my recent foot surgery per the recommendation of my doctor on what to use. Overall, these were great and worked as expected. I did have about 10 in a row that upon opening the individual bandage, it was folded over on itself and the adhesive was stuck to itself. Not a deal breaker, but was a little disappointing. 4Too thin. NOT nearly as thick as the Equate brand. We are searching for a way to buy in bulk quantities pads comparable to the "Equate Non Stick Pads with Adhesive Tabs" which are sold in 10-packs in item #557650141 at Walmart. From the product description these Telfa pads seemed similar online, but upon arrival they turned out to be way to thin. These pads are nowhere near as thick as the Equate brand. Unfortunately we will not be able to use these because they are too thin, and the entire 100-pack is wasted. 2Don t buy from this seller!Although I have ordered these several times before and gotten the 3x4s every other time this time (when I ordered 2 boxes) I received the smallest size charged at the same price as the 3x4s. I needed to use them right away so I was forced to use these. I had to use twice as many because of the size of my wounds. And they would NOT allow me to return them. Buyers beware! 1Great addition for home first aid kitI got sick of paying big bucks for bandages at the grocery store or pharmacy. Never seem to have the right size when you need it.My dog was injured and was sent home with these. I'd never seen them before and realized they'd work great on kids too.Surface is non stick meaning it doesn't stick to healing wounds so are easy to switch out. The pads are individually wrapped and are 4"x3". The wrapping isn't waterproof, so put them in a zip lock for travel or hiking. It is handy to have a single size, no searching for the right size bandage. Have scissors (leatherman micra) handy to cut them to fit smaller wounds. The adhesive is only useful to hold the bandage in place while you are applying tape. I have a collection of tapes (stretchy waterproof, micropore and paper) to ensure these pads stay put.Nexcare Absolute Waterproof First Aid Tape, 1-Inch x 5-Yard Roll (Pack of 6)3M Micropore Paper Tape - 1 x 10 Yds - Box 123M Transpore Tape 1/2 inch x 10 yds. 24 rolls in a box #1527-0The telfa pads are also available with a metalized antimicrobial surface, and I have some of those too:Kendall Telfa Antimicrobial Non-Stick Pad, 10 ct.Next round I'd probably just get the antimicrobial ones. 5
