If you're wondering about their durability...I originally bought this for my mother who deals with a lot of back pain, but she decided the spikes weren't her style. Making sure they didn't go to waste, she gave them to my 2 year old GSD whose known for destroying all his new toys within minutes. Now he's been playing with the massage balls for about a month and a quick wash makes them look just as new as when we first got them. I was worried about how quickly they were going to break based on the reviews, but am extremely happy with them from my personal experience, even if they weren't used for their original purpose... 5A great buy even if you don't have plantar fasciitis.So, long story short, both hubby and I have plantar fasciitis. Personally I loved wearing flats but they don't provide the support I need. He is on his feet all day and night (firefighter) and wears the cushions and soles out in his red wing boots faster than I would like. These really do help and feel amazing to use after a long day. My feet are more sensitive than his so I use the green ball and he uses the red. Immediately I felt the relief I was looking for. My doctor suggested I use these and get an arch cushion. Both help my feet and I have noticed a considerable decline in discomfort. Most days, I don't even feel a problem with it. This is a great buy! 5Works on my IT bandI use the smaller red one for my back when I stretch in the morning. The larger green ball is for my IT band. I just roll it over my IT band to help with tightness. Really feels good and helps with any stiffness I m experiencing. I take them with me on plane trips, especially international, when I m trapped for 8+ hours. I put the green one under my thigh to help ease the muscle tension. One of the best things ever. 5The smaller & firmer ball works great for foot pain.I have tried a few different rollers and stretching devices but this works best for me. The smaller ball is great for foot pain (plantar). At night, I start standing and rolling under my foot for a few minutes, then I sit and continue to roll while I watch tv. Can definitely feel the stretching & pain relief and it eliminates pain flair-ups throughout the night.Only con is that i wish both balls were as hard as the smaller one.The larger ball is too squishy and feels like a dog's toy. 4Spiky massagers.These spike balls work wonders. I tried it the first time today and it helped remove all the knots in my back (upper and lower) and all other areas of my aching muscles. I also tried gently rolling the balls behind the occipital region of my head, behind my neck and shoulders, my back waistline, each side of my hips, mid buttocks.....and I tell you, it felt so wonderful while in the process of doing so. The spiky balls knead like a pro similar to a masseuse kneading my aching muscles. I felt so relieved and pain was gone, just like that. It just need a little help from you by rolling your specific problems areas on the floor or wall against the spike balls. It took me 15 minutes to complete my session, and my tight muscles just loosened up as if I just got done with my session at the massage parlor. So save yourself some money. Massage parlors cost approximately $50 per session. These balls only cost $6.00+ and doing your sessions right in your own home or at work during your break is not only convenient, but also cost effective and cost efficient. You can also do your sessions as often as you wanted to (PRN) when needed. I guarantee you, you will be very happy with these spiky balls!!!! 5Great for rolling out knots in the back musclesThese feel amazing on the shoulderblades, lats and traps. Place it between your back and a flat wall and roll around like a bear scratching its back on a tree. I've ground out some knots in my traps that have been bugging me for months, or even years. I cycle a LOT and so rounded shoulders and tight traps are a problem as I'm in that aggressive road bike position for thousands of miles every year. It's hard to even describe what a relief it is when the spikey surface gets on a knotted area and you can just roll it out. I definitely get more mileage out of the bigger / softer green ball than the smaller harder red one. I found the red one was a little too hard for how I am using them but I will occasionally use it to work out some really deep pains but be careful because you can bruise yourself working on it too hard.The downside, is they look like dog chew toys and so whenever I use them my dog thinks it's play time and she is just utterly disappointed to see me instead grinding them away at my back instead of throwing them to her. 5A bit awkward to useThe softer red ball is great for massaging the back of your neck, but it s difficult to use by yourself. It s nice to roll under your foot. The green ball is rock-hard, and when I tried rolling it between my back and a wall (as instructions say) it actually left marks on the wall. Dont think we ll get much use from that one. 4A simple holder makes the green ball more versatileI have only been using (playing with) these for a few days and like them. The red ball is just the right size to roll between the palm side of my hands. I put the green ball in a nylon tube (an old stocking). The nylon does not dull the spikiness of the ball, and is extremely flexible and strong to hold the ball in position when working with it on my back while sitting in a chair - either pressing against the ball, or rolling it up/down. It's very relaxing rolling the ball under my feet at the end of a long day (or after a long walk). 5Red one is def hard, but not solid, bonus squishy green one. AffordableWanted to make sure I got a hard one. The red fits the bill. It is already helping with foot pain. Not sure I'll use the squishy one, but I like having the option and gonna give it a go. Affordable 4Good for plantar fasciitisI bought these for my feet as I have been experiencing some pain related to plantar fasciitis. Overall, I like the set. The large ball is the softer of the two and I find it a bit too soft. The red smaller ball is the hard one, and I find it too hard so I start off rolling my feet with the larger one, and then roll with the harder one for about 30 seconds because that is all I can take. 3
