5 starsExactly what I needed. Loosened oil glands immediately.5FIXED my dry eye. Life is normal again.Quite simply, these SOLVED an agonizing dry eye problem that I developed quite suddenly and then spent two miserable months trying to troubleshoot. Apparently my meibomian glands just called it quits last winter. None of the drops worked. Warm wet washcloth, oh ha-ha. This mask: almost back to normal two days later. The trick is to get it good and hot, let it warm up your eyes a bit for a few minutes, and then gently but firmly massages your eyelids by rolling the beads in the mask under your fingertips so they roll down your eyelids and gently squeeze the glands. You will know this is working when your vision gets blurry. That means the glands are getting unplugged. THE BLURRINESS IS KEY, and you do need a certain amount of pressure (but obviously don't hurt yourself; if your glands are very clogged they may be sore). I never had that happen with the warm washcloth trick, you need to be able to maintain more heat and more pressure than a washcloth and the sink will accomplish. This was a lifesaver and I've bought about six of them in the last year.Oh, and don't stop using it if your symptoms go away. You'll regret it.5Helping my Blepharitis! Great product!I have a bad case of dry eye syndrome, specifically Blepharitis. These compresses are a lot better than drippy warm washcloths. These compresses are filled with little beads that emit moisture. Pop them into the microwave for 20 minutes, they feel a tiny bit moist, they re wrapped with a good thick elastic band that is adjustable and I leave mine on for 5 minutes 2 times a day and my Blepharitis is better! These truly help and this particular listing is for a 2 pk which is very convenient for a myriad of reasons. 5Moist Heat Really Great For Dry Eye PainYa know those beanbag-feeling thingies you microwave and then apply the heat to sore muscles? This is simply one of those but the size and shape of eyeglasses. So, if you have one of those at home, just use it and skip the expense. That said, this replaces my hot, wet washcloth, and so is really handy and holds heat a lot longer than the washcloth! Plus less messy. Because hand washing these things requires 24 hours of air-dry time, I would recommend buying two of these, as I use mine daily.Reviewers who say it's not moist heat: yes, it really is. It's just not WET heat, like with the hot washcloth. There's a difference.I had to laugh at the fact that this thing comes with straps. I'm cutting mine off because they get in the way in the microwave and I've never once used them. You're blind with these things on your face so you might as well sit or lie down; where ya gonna go, after all, completely blind???I also cracked up about the photo on the front of the product. Lady wearing these and smiling really big. Hilarious!4Dry eye relief! This has been very helpful with my dry eye condition. It is nice that it came in a two pack - that is a plus. I keep one in my travel bag and the other in the kitchen; handy to the microwave. The one problem I find annoying is that it is way too large for my face. There is an excess of fabric between the eye socket coverings. A temporary solution, after heating, is to use a clip for a better fit. One day, when I have some free time, I will shorten the area over the bridge. Sewing a straight stitch to take up some of the excess slack would be a more permanent solution. Otherwise it is a good product and I like it a lot. 4This has been a god-send for my dry eye-balls!I have severe dry eyes and use a lot of tears, and other kinds of drops (mostly without preservatives) to stem the dryness. Usually, drops work well for a couple hours at most - especially during the summer months when I have my fans turned on all day long. I started using this mask once a day - ten days ago and imagine my surprise in finding I don't have to use drops more than every four hours. Saves me on those blasted overpriced drops!I really like this. 18 seconds in my microwave - not 20 (20 burns my skin) - so be careful and do some testing with your microwave's power setting.Recommended. Thank you. 5So soothing and my vision has improved! In addition to Dry Eyes, I have chronic uveitis and blepharitis. I have used prednisone drops on and off for over 15 years to treat the uveitis so have a minor cataract in one eye and had the cataract removed from the other. I have severe floaters, clouds and dots. Basically, my eyes are a mess! I was told years ago to microwave a damp washcloth for use as a compress so felt this was a free way to treat my dry eyes and should work the same. Wrong! At least for me. This compress fits very snugly against your eyes. It is so soothing and calming that I consider it treating myself to some relaxation. The clouds and dots are much less severe when I use it twice a day religiously. I loved it so much I ordered it for my mom who only has dry eyes and was also using washcloth. She was ecstatic! She claimed her vision improved even though I had not mentioned that part to her. Neither of us are doctors nor have we had our vision checked professionally. Maybe we are both nuts. Neither of us have tried other compresses. I've only written a couple of reviews my entire life, probably to complain. I love it. I hope it works for you too. 5It is very comfortable and easilyMy eye doctor told me that my oil glands in my lower lid were clogged and that I should apply heat and express them. I put this on for 5 minutes and it really helps the situation. It is very comfortable and easily adjustable 5have dry eyes? using drops 40 times a day?here's the answerDue to my persistent dry eye condition, my ophthalmologist recommended me to do 5 min compress with towel soaked in hot water twice daily.Of course, owing to the impracticality of this (dripping towel, need to reheat the water/towel every other min. etc.) I ended up not doing it.Once I found this, however, I was able to administer the same therapy in an amazingly practical way.Instead of temporarily relieving the dry-eye symptoms, this product restores the healthy oil secretion in your eye, so its effects are LONG TERM, if not permanent. It is SCIENTIFIC yet simple: the reason why most of us suffer from dry eye is because the oil glands inside the eye are clogged, and those precious oils that prevent the tears from vaporizing are not adequately present. Application of hot water vapor helps unclog those glands, and lets your eye run its self-protection system again. So this product simply restores the malfunctioning part of your eye physiology. (Paraphrasing my ophthalmologist's explanation.)I used to live on moisturizing eye-drops, applying them sometimes several times every hour. (And this is unhealthy, since it gets your eye to adapt to supplied tears, and stop producing enough tears itself).Since I started using this product, I only need to use eyedrops (or artificial tears) a few times a day, if that.Would never expect a 10 dollar product to work miracles, but this one does. If you're looking for a natural and long term dry eye solution, this is it.The product, though washable, loses efficacy after several months of heavy use, and is better replaced. But it's well worth the money, I've gone through 5 compresses in the last 2 years and just bought the 6th one. PS: If you're among the minority of dry-eye sufferers whose problem is NOT related to the oil-ducts, you may ot benefit as much from this product, but at least you'll have ruled out the most usual suspect.5Works well, very comfortableI had to microwave this for 30 seconds to get it warm, but my first impression with it on was ok, it feels warm but see how it works. After 5 minutes I took it off and my vision was blurry...what did I just do?! All I can say is I must have unplugged some oil glands and flooded the eye with oil because 10 minutes later my eyes felt fine and the blurriness was gone. Scared me in the meantime though! This is now part of my dry eye lot along with the Soothe XP eye drops and the Soothe night time ointment, which have really improved my dry eyes a lot. The instructions to use this are sewn into the product, so you don't have to worry about keeping track of a piece of paper. 5The BEST solution for dry-eye !!!Was suffering from severe dry-eye syndrome with resulting severe light-sensitivity following my cataract surgery. Eye drops were only briefly effective and worrisome in that I needed to apply with far more frequency than seemed safe. The ThermolOn eye compress has been a life-saver! I only need to use it 2-3 times a day and it releases the oils in my miebomian glands so they can do their job lubricating my eyes. Truly a miracle after feeling so desperate! 5Kinda heavy but does workThis does work but there a few caveats. I have been having terrible dry eyes and after some reading up on it, went looking for this. I found 20 seconds too long - it was too hot. If you use 20 seconds, be sure to let it cool, at least 5 minutes before applying. I also find it too heavy to last 5 minutes. If I leave it on the entire 5 minutes, my vision is blurry immediately after - 3 minutes worked better for me and I make sure I am not reclining. I like that there are two included in this. I took one to the office and one is at home. 44.5 starsthese are great. Soaking my eyes before was messy and tedious and i barely managed five minutes. Just heat 30 seconds and place on your eyes. They are not quite perfect though. I wish i could adjust how close the sides are to each other because they are too far apart. Also, the pouches are not completely filled so the heated beans fall toward the outside. I do not use the strap to hold them on my head because that just pulls them farther away from the inside of my eyes. So instead of sitting, i lay down and hold the thing on my eyes. Still way easier than the old way.I read reviews complaining that it doesn't stay hot long enough but that isn't quite true. First, you get used to the heat, second, move the beads around. Third, if you really want it to stay hot longer, put a cloth or towel over it. 5Don't be meP.J. Pootentooter's eyes were dry.P.J. Pootentooter didn't read the directions.P.J. I've only had this product for a few days but I have been using it daily during that time and I must say it works wonderfully! I have an 1100 watt microwave and heating this on high for 22 seconds is just the right temperature for me. I leave the compress on my eyes for 5 minutes each day. I can tell it's working as my vision is quite blurry afterwards (meaning the heat has released the oil from the oil glands). I think this is going to really help my severe dry eye condition that I have had for decades. I've always used lubricating drops but am hoping that with this daily treatment I may not have to spend the money on the lubricating drops in the future. :)5
