Beware! - Can't return item even if unopened!Bought these for my Dad to user for his arthritis. He was not able to get them off of his hands after putting them on.I then had another pair that was unopened, but found out that you can't return these gloves for a refund. If I had known that ahead of time, I would have never ordered them! Most disappointed in Amazon for this. 1Second Purchase - Part of My Wifes Toolbox for Rheumatoid ArthritisSecond purchase of these gloves for my wife who has rheumatoid arthritis. The first pair lasted almost 2 years and several washings. They held up very well with fairly constant use. They have been very effective in reducing inflammation while my wife slept. She also uses them during the day as well, especially when driving. Good compression and flexibility without being too tight and uncomfortable. Very good product. 5Avoid if you're sensitive to smellsThey fit just fine, though I think I might've been a bit better off getting the smaller size. I think the fingers are a bit too long, but it's not too terribly hard to make those shorter so I don't feel like a child wearing their older sibling's clothes hands barely visible at the cuffs. The big issue though is that they stink. Holy heck they stink. Like walking into a tire store kind of...whew. Have washed them twice so far and the smell is just still there. I'm beginning to worry that the solution might be to drown them in febreeze and hope.Update: I've owned these gloves for a month now and thrown them in every load of wash I've done since they arrived. The smell is not going away in the slightest. Removed two stars because I can't stand to be near them much less have them on my hands while they smell like this. Very likely just going to pitch them at this point. I'm sad I wasted like $20 on these, but I feel better than the almost double if not more other sites are charging. 1Seam ripped after 6 months. The seam ripped on the thumb area after about 6 months of wearing them. I am not real satisfied with them, but my OT says there really isn t anything else out there on the market that will do what I need. Osteoarthritis has affected my grip, and swollen my hands. These do help with the swelling and the pain, so I will get another pair, but I am very unhappy with the way they hold up. Just have no illusions as I did: they may last for awhile, but not very long. I am looking for something different now, but will get these until something else pops up.... 3DO NOT BUY THESE!Used these for one night - and they kept my hands from moving so when I took them off in the morning, my fingers were in worse pain than ever. These are a terrible thing if you have arthritis in your hands/fingers as they make it worse :( 1An ok glove for very limited uses, but not for long term wearing or dexterity.I've bought and used other brands of compression gloves, but I tend to wear them out quickly. I decided to give these a shot, they appear like they would hold up to what I put them through, and thought that for twice the price of what I normally use that they should hold up better. However, I can't get past the several issues that these gloves have, to give them a good long term test.I have bouts of Raynaud's, and sometimes have to work in cold temps for a period of time. I needed something to keep my hands warm, but still breathe enough to wear for long time periods. I also needed something with grip, to help when I'm moving things around in the cold, or trying to hold a cold glass or bottle. I wear my gloves both at home, and for work, so I do go through compression gloves pretty quickly.Pros:They are warm, and the material seems strong on initial trials.Fit is accurate for size.Cons:The velcro wrist straps are horrible. The webbing on the glove side is the "hook" side, and much longer than the strap would ever need to fasten to. Also, the stitching is very far inside the edges. What this means, is they catch on everything! They do not ventilate well at all, or wick away moisture, which makes getting them back off that much more of a challenge. You pretty much have to turn them completely inside-out to get them off. Once I did, I realized just how much my hands were sweating in them.I needed a compression glove with grip, and from photos, they appear to have a gripping surface. The "grips" are not a soft material, more like a hard plastic, which actually reduces your grip on smooth surfaces. But, it makes it easier for the fingers to catch on each other, since the "grip" texture covers the entire glove, not just the parts you would use to grip things with. So, typing, or anything requiring dexterity is out of the question with these on.I can probably use them as winter driving gloves, but that wasn't what I was trying to buy. 2I bought three brands and compared them because the reviews were so variable! This review is based on fit and comfort. Since I ordered three different brands of therapeutic gloves, I never actually wore these for my injury. Please read my reviews for the IMAK compression arthritis gloves and the Totes Isotoner Therapeutic Open-Finger Gloves before making your purchase. The three brands/styles of gloves differ in their thickness and flexibility: the Thermoskin Premium Arthritic Gloves are the thickest and least flexible; while the IMAK compression arthritis gloves are intermediate in thickness/flexibility, and the Totes Isotoner Therapeutic Open-Finger Gloves are the thinnest, stretchiest, and most flexible of the three.Size and comfort for all three brands were great, although the Thermoskins are loser across the palm, while the fit for the other two brands were more glove-like. I'm a petite woman with small hands, and the small gloves in each style fit me well without being tight. If you wouldn't describe your hands as either small or slender, then the Thermoskins (or perhaps the Isotoners) would probably be better for you.If you have to wear the gloves during the day and still be able to have manual dexterity, choose the Isotoners or the IMAKs--I can type this with them on; I would not be able to type with the Thermoskins on because they're stiffer and my fingertips barely stick out of them. If you want to keep your joints somewhat immobilized, then go with the Thermoskins.Lastly, the material: Neoprene? The interior of the Thermoskins is foam-like and the exterior seems to have a slick plastic "print" design. 4Literally Fits Like a Glove & Does the Job RightLiterally Fits Like a Glove & Does the Job RightMy Occupational Therapist recommended that I get a pair of pressure gloves to counter my fingers from swelling due to osteo arthritis. The instructions were useful instructions for accurately measuring my hands, which turned out to be a perfect fit. Note that the first time I wore them that my index fingers were actually painful after an hour and I was convinced that they were going to be too small - undoubtedly because my fingers were still swollen. Fortunately, the next day I was able to wear them for hours without any discomfort, and have been for several weeks now. They work! My hands are no longer swollen, are less painful and almost completely free of "trigger finger" symptoms. So far, being a relatively cool springtime my hands aren't sweating and I haven't had to wash them yet (hand wash only in tepid water). The gloves feature tiny rubber/plastic dots on the surface, which aids in keeping traction on anything gripped and for that they work well. I don't have any complaints whatsoever and think highly of the fit and function - they just don't go with every outfit I have, unfortunately, but they do make me look like a badass when wearing leather. 5Nope.Upon first opening them they are not visually appealing, all seams are pointed out, which I imagine is to provide comfort. Ok, so they re ugly, put them on and they felt nice, cool and soft.... and then trying to Velcro them wasn t easy with one hand. Obviously it can be done, I did it, but I bought these because I have arthritis. Meaning my hands are sometimes too swollen to do minute precise tasks. Ok they re on, not a natural feeling and a bit cumbersome when trying to move my fingers. And when I do move my hands/fingers to write or play video games it sounds like my hands are wearing diapers. It s worse than corduroy. Now trying to get them off is even more swear words. Did I mention I bought these because I have arthritis? I decided maybe I was being too critical, I made my husband and mother in law try them. My husband lasted a whopping 3 minutes. My mother in law said well maybe you could wear them under your gloves in the winter... before attempting to take them off. I think this is a fail, I m going to see if I can give them back. The $14 ones from Walgreens will have to do till I find something better. 1Fits most of my needs.Offers good compression/comfort. Wrist is long, interferes with watches, bracelets, but is minor inconvenience. For the price, the velcro closure is problematic, with the rough "hook" piece sewn as the receiving end to the "loop" strap. There is excess rough hook that snags on everything. If mine were sewn on incorrectly - SEND ME ANOTHER PAIR! The last thing I want to do is take time to repair a design flaw on my own.I didn't think the grip material would be sufficient enough to help assist with my own deficits from ulnar nerve injury, but was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Great for driving, sleeping, warmth, compression and for gripping tools. Not great for typing. Fingers too long for cooking, eating. Does get sweaty, which makes for slow removal.I use these more for sleeping and driving and while out. Like contrast of interior/exterior color. I'd consider buying them again, but would like to see the closure pieces swapped. 4
