... and I worried about getting these on with a comfortable fit. Although I did struggle into themI'm a BIG girl and I worried about getting these on with a comfortable fit. Although I did struggle into them, they were more comfortable than I had imagined. I could wear them all day and not get weary. I was also worried that they might tear as I tried to cram all my meat inside, but they are very flexible and strong and never once made me think they might tear or run. very well made and really comfortable and does the job. I even wore them out into public because they simply look like a pair of black stockings and not medical at all. 5Compression SocksI recently had to start wearing compression hose for my varicose veins. The doctor had me order some expensive thigh highs and full panty hose. Both work well but are uncomfortable around the back of my knees. My main pain area is on the back of my calf, so I thought I'd give these open toed compression socks a try. They work just as well, though I have to say the open toe is not very comfortable in socks and shoes. The ends roll when putting the socks on. Then they roll again when you try to put them into shoes. I had to use skin adhesive tape to hold them into place. You would think that open toed would help with the numbness you feel in shoes with your feet in a certain angle, but they are actually worse than the close toed versions. So since my purchase, I wear them mainly at the house when I'm too lazy to try and wrangle on the thigh highs or hose. They provide enough support that I don't need the full hose to remedy the pain of the calf varicose. 5You get what you pay forThe material is rough, and the seam at the front of your foot is a big enough bump that I found it uncomfortable. I've worn a pressure stocking for 17+ years, and this wasn't comfy enough for me. Good elasticity, but the small still wanted to ride down on my calf , might be better on someone whose leg is a little curvier. Not something I'll get again. 3Comfort maximizedThis was not a medical needs based purchase. I work 12 hour shifts. When my light support knee highs, which I loved, were ready for replacing, I bought these to try. I was simply amazed at the huge difference this made during my work day. My legs felt invigorated all day! I truly felt the improvement! When I got home, no more tired legs that would cramp during sleep. I am large and 5'4", never had edema, and this short size fits perfectly. I use the Truform large stocking donner and these slide right on in 5 seconds. They stay in place all day without any discomfort or need for readjusting. 5Good for tired legsThese are great for tired legs. This size is great for shorter legs. The only problem that I had with this pair is that they got a runner in them in the heel area really quickly like within the first few days of wearing them. I'm worried about the quality of them but thought it might just be a bad pair so I ordered another pair and hope that they are a little better quality. They do feel comfortable. 2Finally toeless AND shorter lengths? Huzzah!Having worn support hose for more than a decade, I was thrilled to find they finally made toeless hose AND shorter lengths. I'm 5 1/2 feet, and the shorter stockings are still a tad bit long, but not terribly. Before the shorter lengths, I always had fabric bunched under my knees and if you have ever worn support stockings, you know right under the banding is uncomfortable enough without it being layered up. I confess that many times I wouldn't bother wearing my support stockings as prescribed (I have been diagnosed with incompetent veins in both legs) just because they made my toes so incredibly miserable. I work from home now and actually wear my hose all day long because my toes don't hurt. I like the material of these better than the Jobst brand. They have a little texture to them, feel studier and less likely to snag or tear up. 5inaccurate sizingThese compression stockings were supposed to be short length, full-calf compression stockings. I could not even get them over my ankle, so I don't think the "full-calf" claim is really true. They do appear to be shorter than some average length knee-high compression hose I have, so that would be good. I did follow the sizing chart closely and took measurements carefully, so I'm very disappointed. 1Cheaper offlineThe material is too thick for my taste, and it's hit or miss when you choose the regular vs. short length (there's at least 2" difference between them), but on the plus side the toe and heel design is much better than the stockings my doctor gave me, as it is looser and doesn't crush your toes. It sort of gives the feel of an open toe without slipping around as much. But on pricing, you can get these for about $15 plus tax at Wal-Mart, so if you're paying more than that, you're getting ripped off. At least that's how it feels once you've already bought them and discovered that you could have saved several dollars. 3Very HappyI've been looking for compression hose/socks to ease pain associated with swelling due to a lymphovenous malformation in my foot. Most compressed my ankles so much that it appeared unhealthy to wear them. These are perfect - an effective level of compression that is still comfortable, amd well-designed so as not to overly restrict other areas. The material is high quality and appears durable, while still soft enough to be comfortable. I plan to order another pair. 5I like that I could get these in a shortI had to start wearing medical compression stockings as per the instructions of my doctor. I went to my local medical suppy store and was fitted for the Truform 8865s compression stockings, short. My insurance will cover 4 pair of these a year. Unfortunately the local store only had one pair and their new shipment wasn't coming in till the following week. I did not want to have to wash a single pair of stockings by hand every day, so I looked these up on Amazon. I found they were an Amazon Prime product so I would get them in two days. I ordered two of them so when all was said and done I would have seven pairs all together. This meant that I only had to wash the single pair a couple of days. As far as the stockings go I thought they would be very uncomfortable but they are not. The toe box is very large so it won't cramp your toes or put compression on them. I like that I could get these in a short. I am tall, but it goes by how long your calves are. The compression works very well. Within just a couple of days almost all of the swelling in my feet and lower legs was gone! I forgot how my feet looked when I could actually see the bones under the skin instead of sausages that were about to explode! I was at a very critical stage with my edema being so extensive and I'm glad my doctor suggested heavier compression stockings than what I was wearing (light compression travel stockings). These stockings are not as expensive as some others out there and being able to get them through Amazon Prime was great! They are a little tricky to get on, but I also purchased a device to help put the stockings on. It is a coated metal frame you slip the sock over, put your foot in the stocking and pull up the frame. I bought it on Amazon as well and I believe it is made by Truform. It is pricey for what it is, but it makes a world of difference in getting compression stockings on. 5
