Not for tiny wrists or tiny bonesMy climbing buddy recommended this when I injured my hand and wrist while indoor bouldering. The Wrist Widget feels about as good as a tape job, but way more convenient to apply and take off.Unfortunately, I have to give it a negative review because it doesn't work for me. I have a tiny 5-inch wrist (they said it'd work for wrists as small as 4.5"), and the widget keeps sliding up over my puny ulnar bone and doesn't do its job in the new position. And to get it back into place, I can't just slide it back down--I have to undo the straps and reposition it and strap it back on.I tried wearing a watch higher up on my arm to keep the widget from sliding up, but it's lame and uncomfortable to wear a watch practically in the middle of your forearm, and even that didn't work that well.I wanted to love it because it feels great when I first put it on. But with just a little bit of movement it moves and becomes useless. I'm sure it'd work out fine if you have normal-sized wrists, but this just doesn't work for me. I'd return it if I had kept the packaging. 2Very helpful for tfcc injury while playing tennisI'm a an over 50 serious tennis player, and I've been devastated to learn that I have a tfcc injury with no hope of surgical repair. My orthopedist told me I can continue to play without causing further injury, but the only issue is that playing is painful. The wrist widget is extremely effective in stabilizing my wrist and reducing the pain. I have returned to my travel team and my regular tennis schedule of three or four days per week. There is still some pain, but I love to play so much that it's worth it. I ice after playing. I also cook a lot, and I sometimes wear the wrist widget while prepping a lot of food, such as dicing and mincing. I also tried the bullseye, but it doesn't help nearly as much on the tennis court. I think it's because the wrist widget has two small straps that can be tightened independently of each other. Overall, I could not do many activities without this brace. 5This little brace works remarkably well!!This little brace works remarkably well!!I have had wrist issues for years. Actually had surgery for a ligament tear about 20 years ago. Don't remember the exact medical terminology, but it is in the area describe by this product description. Over the years I will get periodic pain in the TFCC (learned that terminology from this product.) I assume I have some other tears or just degeneration in the area from various activities. The pain comes and goes and ranges from mild to severe. Generally I will wear a cuff type brace to help it out. This week it flared up pretty severely while working to paint some rooms in the house and I could not find my brace. So I did some searching on Amazon for a replacement. Found one and happened to see this product suggested by Amazons algorithm. Although it was 3X more expensive, I decided to give it a shot. It arrived the next day (while I was still painting) and I immediately put it on. My initial thoughts were a little skeptical because it is much more minimal looking than what I am used to. However, it had a pretty immediate effect of relieving my pain. I was very surprised. While it obviously is not a cure, it is much less obtrusive and comfortable than the cuff type braces I was wearing and much more effective. I am sold and have ordered several more to have and be able to rotate through as needed. I highly recommend it if you have pain the back side of your wrist. Worked great for me. 5$30 for 2 pieces of Velcro? Where's the rest of it?Does it work... yes, but that all depends on what you are trying to get out of it. No, it does not offer the support of traditional wrist braces, but this is not a traditional brace and is not for traditional wrist injuries. This is specifically for a TFCC injury which doesn't require a full wrist brace. All it needs is a little support on either side of the ulna to restrict certain movements that would otherwise cause pain. It's quite simple and it does that just fine. It is also nice having nearly full use of my hand since it is basically a bracelet. If you need a full wrist brace for another type of injury, this will not do you any good. That said, any other wrist brace will likely support the ulna in a similar fashion so my only argument for buying this product for a TFCC tear is that it costs 2-3 times more than a traditional, and perfectly useful, wrist brace. This "widget" costs $30, but it couldn't have cost any more than 30 cents to make it. This thing is literally nothing more than 2 pieces of Velcro stuck to each other and cut into a fancy pattern. No plastic or metal parts, no seams to sew, just some Velcro. That means someone is very greedy and somehow thinks a 10,000% markup is perfectly acceptable. That must be the best profit margin in history. This should be a $10 product at the most. It's absolutely ridiculous, but hey, it works! And since it works, I have to give it a few stars even though I think whoever is responsible for the price needs their head examined. 3I think it actually worked.I injured my hand in a freak staple removing incident and after nauseating pain for a few minutes was sure the problem would resolve itself. Three weeks later, it was slightly worse and every time I accidentally opened a door or container or placed weight directly over it I felt a sickly sensation of "things happening that shouldn't be happening." Also, my wrist made a weird clicking sound when I rotated it. Eventually, when I got to constant shooting pain up my arm, i gave up and consulted Dr. Google. I cannot be sure my injury was definitely TFCC, but when I tried taping it up with scotch tape from my desk drawer, I felt immediate relief. I bought one of these and eventually forgot it was there. About 3 weeks in I accidentally left it off for a day and felt sore. It has been about 6 weeks and I just took it off. I am a little tentative, but the pain seems gone. I think it actually worked. Also, no weird clicking. Bonus. 5Best $30 I have ever spentMade a huge difference with TFCC pain . I found it strange orthopedists are oblivious to its virtues and I had to weed out this brace with my own research. Sadly, through this injury, I discovered some orthopedists are clueless, saying not to wear a brace or selling me one that in hindsight was not suitable at all - and just happened to be conveniently stocked by them. My kid had been battling TFCC pain for months and couldn't shake it until she started wearing this. The improvement was immediate. Best $30 I have ever spent. I have no involvement with this product other than as a consumer. 5Not so sure on this...I first ordered a wrist widget in 2016 when I tore my tfcc. Eventually I needed surgery because the tear became a flap that rolled up. I've got symptoms in the other wrist now so I bought a new one since mine was old and kept sliding around. The new one is doing the same thing. No matter how tight I make it the thing gets loose and works it's way past my ulnar bone. I've got a few weeks to reconsider before my return period is up. The idea is great as it saves money because tape adds up but they need to consider using a different material or closure method. I hate having to check on it every 30 mins to an hour to adjust it. 2Life (wrist) saver! Not only does this reduce my wrist pain while climbing, but it seems to effectively be rehabbing my wrist in the process (somehow?!).The price is a little high for some padded velcro, but given that it does its job I'd say it's worth it. I lost my first one, and bought another. 5It simply works. I was diagnosed with a torn ...It simply works. I was diagnosed with a torn TFCC based on an MRI. Also diagnosed with an abnormally long ulna which contributed to the TFCC (ulnar impaction syndrome for the medically minded). My orthopedic surgeon insisted that the only thing that would heal my condition was surgery. I expressly asked him about immobilization and braces, which he said would not help.Well, after a few months of wearing this, I'm about 95% healed. Still some minor twinges occasionally when I make a rotational movement with my wrist, but I assume I just need to give the healing a little longer. I don't know if it was the placebo effect or not, but this thing saved me thousands of dollars in surgery and 4-6 weeks recovery time. I should add that I researched the heck out of wrist braces. I tend to think that their is a "best" of everything, and I don't mind spending several hours on the internet to find it.Also, customer service from the company that makes the wrist widget was five stars. They spent probably 30 minutes explaining how it works, how to size it, and even sent me a wider version of the wrist widget at no charge to spread the compression out over a larger area on my wrist. I can tell the difference when I forget to put the wrist widget on in the morning. 5Helps with carpal tunnel too RECOMMENDI started experiencing early signs of carpal tunnel and began using this product. The support on my wrists is amazing. It might not look like much because it's such a simple design but once you begin to use it you can notice how big of an impact of support it gives you. If you have any questions or concerns their customer service department is excellent and very attentive. $30 might seem like a high price for such a small wrap of Velcro but it lasts for a really long time. The first one I bought (which I still use) was about 3 years ago. I bought a second one so I can use on my other wrist. 5
